I cycled a lot, and found this hat is super useful because it had different levels of brightness, which you can adjust to suit your needs.

Great for dog walking at night

With winter coming on, and especially living here in the north of England, a woolly hat with inbuilt head torch seems a clever idea. This one does a reasonable job for the price. The light is very bright, with two dimmer levels to choose. Be aware that the hat is a simple acrylic knit. It is double layered for warmth but being acrylic, it will offer limited protection against wind and may not hold in any heat if you get wet. I also feel the hat is a little on the small side for an adult – it fits but there is not much space to spare.It’s useful that the light unit can be removed to charge in a standard USB port, and this also allows the hat to be washed. The light is operated very simply by pressing a button on the light unit – one press for maximum brightness, two for medium, three presses for a softer light and a fourth press turns it off. The four LED bulbs are very bright – do not look at them directly and if you are out and interacting with others you will want to be careful not to dazzle anyone facing you.It is a bit tricky to angle the light- since it is in the turnup of the hat. At full brightness the light illuminates the area ahead of you well; once you look down it needs a bit of fiddling with the turnup and angle to light a task (like looking into a car engine or reading the address on a parcel). If you need very precise task lighting, a dedicated head torch would be more practical. However, if you are planning to walk or run in the dark and want the assistance of some light ahead with the comfort of a warm hat, this is a useful combination

I was very shocked with the brightness on this, it projects a wide spread of light rather than a beam of light but I prefer it like this as I can see more, and most importantly it’s comfy! When your ready to pop the light out pop it straight into a usb plug or computer to charge whilst you put your hat in the washer & dryer hassle free! Good quality and great value, happy customer!

The media could not be loaded. I chose this hat for my partner; we both walk our dog at night and take it in turns on early morning walks. We live in a small village surrounded by countryside and B roads, most of our walking routes have no streetlights. The light on this hat is perfect for seeing and for being seen. The light is perfect on medium brightness for most walking, having it on full makes it easier being seen on B roads from a distance. The hat is made from a lovely chunky knit that rebounds well to keep its shape. It fits my partner perfectly and keeps his head and ears covered. Battery life is just right for walks, it can be used on the highest power for two hours so that is enough for most of our walks, if we are planning a longer one then medium is a better choice as it lasts for four hours. Charging is easy, you don’t even need a cable as the USB connector is directly connected to the light. You just plug it into the USB port on a socket, laptop, power bank etc. Really nice quality.

This remarkable little hat will fit an adult (although not one with a really big head!) and will keep the wearer warm, especially because of the wonderful fleecy lining. The colours are bright and cheery and ideal for dull autumnal/winter mornings. Underneath the brim is the back of the wonderful LED lamp that is mounted at the front and a pull away cover over an integral USB-A plug. Simply pop this into your PC or charger and in the matter of an hour or so it is fully charged for the walk home.The press button that operates the lamp gives three different luminosities, by just pressing in sequence, and delivers a wonderful bright light which no one will be able to deny they saw you walking towards them.This is a really good hat, that is also very good value!

I bought this beanie for my little sister who usually wears a beanie in cold weather. I thought the integrated LED head light would be really helpful in the winter for her when she's leaving work. The light is extremely bright and lights up a wide area. It's not quite the same as a head torch where you can tilt it becasue being mounted on a beanie generally means that you need your head to be pointing directly forward or slightly down to make the most of the light. It certainly makes you more visible though and is great for poorly lit areas. It's easy to remove and charge as well. Good value for money.
