Smooth, great quality leather, nice-looking shoes from Ecco.Great for cold weather.

Description states “Country of origin Slovakia”, but when I received them the label inside the shoes say “made in China”. The leather material is much stiffer, and not nearly as pliable than my previous exact same pair which is “Made in Slovakia”. My previous pair was purchased August 2023. This new batch is not the same. The pair made in Slovakia has much more soft, pliable, and supple leather just like the description “Available in buttery soft leather crafted by ECCO”. The new pair made in China has very stiff leather indirect comparison. When I purchased my original pair, which were made in Slovakia, at the Ecco store in UTC San Diego, I noticed then that the all black and all white versions had MUCH softer leather than the other color variations such as white&black, white w/ brown&black, and white w/ olive. This surprised me. Upon closer examination I found the colorized versions were made in China. This led me to ultimately purchasing the all white version which was made in Slovakia because it had so much more buttery soft leather which ultimately was superior and comfort. From the final photo, you can see that on the 10 month old pair the leather looks crinkly and squishy, even around the sides & ankle, which was mostly like that from the onset and have gotten even more so since being broken in. Even the little tab of leather on the tongue is very soft and pliable, but you can practically see how much stiffer, firm, & taut the leather looks on the brand new ones. I will be returning these because they are not nearly as comfortable and I’m not even sure if leather softening ointment/cream and my shoe stretchers are going to help. Which by the way, I never used on my older ones. The Chinese ones are such a disappointment, and that’s why I didn’t purchase them at the onset.

Very comfortable, light, soft. Only the holes at the bottom are superfluous, garbage is collected.

Never fit right, pulls up in heel (ordered right size) and top of toe wore badly within two weeks of only occasional use.

I think I'll get in the swing of wearing these next summer they fit as ECCO always do, looking forward to better weather to try them out.... good price too
