This hoover is amazing my carpets are cleaner then they have ever been and with minimal effort. The suction levels are great so you only need to make one pass plus with how lightweight and easy to manoeuvre it doesn't take long at all to hoover, and it removes dog hairs like nobodies business . The main body can be easily detached for more hard to reach places and the attachment for cleaning upholstery is brilliant it even cleaned my dogs bed with ease. It's very well built, very well thought out design and does exactly what it claims to if you're a dog owner buy this hoover it'll make your life so much easier

Recently adopted two rescue dogs. Unfortunately they had been in the charity dogs home for two years before we adopted them so they were accustomed to outdoor living and consequently had fabulous thick coats. They have very quickly adapted to indoor dogs and have begun to moult. They have beaten my Henry into submission and destroyed my Vax cordless dog vacuum completely.I was going to buy a Shark anti-hair wrap vacuum cleaner as I also have three long haired daughters who also moult to a lesser extent than the dogs, but the expense and reviews were concerning, then I saw this Hoover model when browsing. The reviews were pretty good and the price was reasonable so I took a chance.What a revelation! It removed the hair from my carpets easily without a bit of trouble. There is anti-wrap hair technology which is basically a big comb that collects all the straggly bits and when it is full, there is a light that turns red that informs you that it needs removing. The collection bin is easy to empty. The front roller, which is also where the comb is situated, is easily accessible and therefore easy to clean. The filters just rinse through with lukewarm water and air dry. The additional accessories work well. The lift-away feature is useful for stairs, and the electric cord is of a suitable length. It has a little slider than controls the power of suction so is equally good on rugs on the lower suction setting. My hard floors have not escaped the cleaning process either. Well impressed!It is heavier than the cordless Vax but more manoeuvrable than the Henry. It doesn’t run out of battery because it is corded. It has the ease of a cordless without the downside. The best vacuum cleaner that I’ve had for a number of decades, not just years! I personally think the results from this model Hoover is better than a Dyson or Shark and is certainly better value for money.It appears well made and sturdy so fingers crossed that it lasts a long while. Very pleased with this machine and enjoy vacuuming again.

Can be used as a conventional 'push' cleaner or easily dismantled to use as an easy to carry canister-and-wand cleaner. Used in the latter form with the associated attachment stairs are a doddle. The only drawback for me was the way the bin is emptied which uses a push button to release the bottom of the bin. Its location is too near the release of the bin's content. Otherwise a good machine.

Easy to put together and lots of features to ensure you can vacuum the whole house with ease.The first thing I was impressed with was the build quality, it’s a very solid feeling vacuum cleaner. Nothing feels cheap or flimsy.The completed vacuum is not very heavy at 6.5Kg and easy to manoeuvre around the house. Suction power is brilliant, enough power to accommodate any carpet or floor type. There is an accessible suction control button located on the handle. You can adjust the suction power by moving it up or down. ‘max’ setting for hard floors or short pile carpets. ‘min’ setting for deep pile carpets. In fact, the 'min' setting is strong enough for our new carpets. Complete with an LED lit motorised floor head, that impressively reaches the dirt at the edges of the skirting board.The Push and Lift technology makes it so easy to carry the main body up and down the stairs and the 7.8-meter power cord means there are no problems with reach. A quick push of the wand release button and the use of the crevice tool, ensures you reach all those nooks and crannies. The 2.5L bin is straight forward to release and a simple push of a button empties the contents.My only 2 comments on vacuum cleaner [and these are subjective] are that a) you must get used to pressing the power button on the main body. Personally, it’s more intuitive to press a button on the main handle and b) I was hoping to find a dusting tool like I had on a previous Hoover model.I’ve spent months looking and trialling different upright corded vacuum cleaners and overall, the Hoover Upright HL5 Push & Lift Home is one of the best upright vacuum cleaners I’ve seen on the market.

I cannot believe the flexibility of this vacuum, I had a previous cordless model that had all of the bells and whistles... Or so I thought.Cleaning the staircase has never been so enjoyable, the push and lift design is a firm favourite as I can just press the pedal and go from there without switching any parts around. Bliss. The HEPA filter was a main attraction for my household since I have allergy sufferers in the family and I have pet birds that create a lot of dander (dust that can trigger allergies). I gave my carpets and wooden flooring a deep clean immediately after unboxing and the suction was incredibly good, I have used the vacuum cleaner frequently since and have noticed how much fresher my home looks and feels.The nozzle for getting into small corners is exceptional and the ability to remove each section and troubleshoot manually seems to be a huge advantage on the off chance there's any issues later.The filter is really high quality and I appreciate that you can clean all of the parts to keep things fresh. All of the vacuum is easy to use, relatively quiet for the hard work it does and is a perfect addition for my home.The only thing that had me confused from taking the cleaner out of the box and assembling was the upside down print on the handle (see image). I think it makes more sense to print this the other way around? A very worthwhile purchase indeed.
