Predictable and boring
This is the 2nd book I've read of the Hope Island series and it was boring to say the least. It dragged on and on without going anywhere and so repetitive it was just hopeless. If Paige had been mentioned one more time I had screamed. To read these two books was like eating the same cake with different frosting. Too predictable and no surprises.

Great story!
Freya and Rome! Love! Friends to forever together! I love all the art talk in this book as well. It's great to read how these two became friends and then how they progressed.

no real story
the charcters in the book keep going over the same thing. Gets really boring after awhile. I prefer a book that I can't wait to pick up again to see what happens. However, with this book I feel like the story is dragging on and on over the same issue.

Absolutely gorgeous!
This truly was a sweet, uplifting and heartwarming romance. These two were the best of friends, both scared to admit their feelings and to take that step to lovers. The story felt so real; their indecisiveness and wariness, their awkwardness and cringe-worthy moments, the funny and the sweet ... I loved it all! Another fabulous book by this awesome author! Bravo!

I was mad at myself for buying this book
Really? This was the biggest piece of rubbish I have ever read! It's plot was hidden away under a pile of sex described "making love". Pages and pages of boring sex. I thought it would get better but it didn't. I was bored as I continued to read. I like plots not this junk. Don't waste your time or money.

Sweet Summer Read
A quick read. A little more dramatic than I like , but a happy ending, which is a must. Good characters.

ZZZZZ. I'm sleepy...
I am bored to tears. Blueberry Bay was charming, sweet and I loved Bella and Isaac. But Buttercup Beach is just eh. Too predictable. Too long and drawn out. I'm over it at 56%. I don't know to go on or just stop with it.

Funny and sad but a joy to read!
We're back on Hope Island and this time it's Rome and Freya's story.Rome and Freya work together in his glass studio and have done for a couple of years, Freya has been in love with him but he's reluctant to love again after his fiancee was killed 6 years before.Freya came to the island after finding her husband to be in bed with her best friend just before they were married, with no where to go as they loved abd worked together she found herself on the island and working for Rome, falling in love with him but can she let her heart be broken again?I really enjoy reading this author, her writing captures the essence of the place and her characters are well defined. Hope Island series is a lovely set of books about a 6 people, and their relationships. Funny and sad at the same time but always a joy to read.

This book started out pretty well, but about half way through it started ...
This book started out pretty well, but about half way through it started to get repetitive. How can two so called best friends mis-communicate so badly? I was internally screaming at the book for them just to talk to each other properly and stop second guessing each other. It made the two main characters start becoming very annoying rather than being a cute story. And whats the obsession with the words 'making love'?! And Freya's obsession with 'he hasn't said he loved me, so therefore he doesnt' after literally two minutes of them being together. All in all a promising story, ruined for me by the characters dialogue becoming repetitive and theirs and other characters not really developing. The backdrop and location of the book sounded lovely though.

So repetitive
I don't know how many times I read the same phrase over and over, but it became monotonous and totally unbelievable. Sorry, but this story has no depth and is totally implausable

Fabulous summer read!
I've read several of Holly's books now, and I've come to love her feel good style of writing. Her books always give you chills with the characters as they realise their love for one another. This book was no different as Freya and Rome had both had a bad past relationship and now needed one another to move forward. There was a few rocky patches where I thought no, we're not going to get a HEA, bout its a beautiful story of love and friendship. I did laugh with Rome's family and had tears in my eyes at some of the high bits. It is a must read for the beach or summer holidays!

Hope Island the perfect place to fall in love.
A seal called Sammythat needs rescuing , being caught making love on the beach by your dad, and a first kiss under exploding fireworks . Holly Martin has created a magical story that I absolutely fell in love with. It's the perfect summer pick me up and can't put me down book. Summer at Buttercup Beach is the second book in the Hope Island series. It was lovely to reconnect with Freya and Rome in this the follow on from Spring at Blueberry Bay. Roll on September for the next book in this lovely series.
