Detailed and clear overview mainly for people used to jargon
This is approaching mainly professionals interested in integrating mindfulness into therapeutic settings and those will get the most out of it. As someone without a degree in psychology I fount it interesting as well. Especially, how it demystifies some aspects of eastern gnosticism. Everything is very clear in its presentation and truthful to its buddhist origin and practice - mostly zen- and chan lineages perspectives as far as possible. Here we have a phenomenological approach to the human psyche that is practical and combined with rigorous scientific testing. The concepts go deep and are presented in detail. Grasping all of this might take some heavy lifting for some as it is not tailored to be popular or watered down. Even practitioners of buddhist, taoist, hinduistic or sufi meditation can learn benificial guidance for practice. Albeit, the book doesn't claim or intend that.

Therapeutic therapy?
I was heavily into this type of reading at one point and then went off on a different tact while trying to sort my own issues out, useful and helpful though a tad heavy for me at times. If you are into this type of therapy and need to discover the why's what's and how great, maybe a bit too much for a layman as I would now consider myself to be it is though of definite help for grounding.
