Experienced Microgreens gardener, and did a side by side test between these grow pads and coconut coir medium. The grow trays were exactly the same, the seeds came from the same 1 ounce package from Johnny's Seeds. I started the mustard seed in the grow pads 3 days before starting the next batch in the coconut coir. The mustard seed planted in the coconut coir grew faster, lusher, and stronger and within 4 days it had out grown, and had a higher germination percentage than the grow pads. It may work on other seeds, and I like the idea, but unfortunately these did not measure up to my expectations.
