Decent but expensive
I would rate the product as decent, but a bit pricey for what it offers. I gave it 4 stars but, if I could, I would have given it 3.5/5.Let's start with the basics: this is a record player that plays vinyl records in three speeds. It has a volume button, three speeds (via a switch), auto stop, bluetooth connectivity and a transparent plastic cover. Pretty standard stuff in this product segment. What this record player offers, on top of the standard features, is a pair of stereo speakers that will enhance your experience. That's partially true. You can indeed connect the provided speakers and listen to the sound of the player. That will be good enough if you're casually using the record player for background music in the living room or for just some basic music when you're cooking or doing something. If you're an audiophile then don't expect anything at all from these speakers in terms of performance. They're mediocre at best. Very dull mids and highs, almost non existent lows. A $15 pair of PC speakers would perform better. So, we have established that the included speakers don't really offer a superior sound experience. Moreover, the player looks nice but seems to have its quality issues. The most notable of those is the fact that the needle arm lifts too high. It lifts so high that it makes contact with the transparent cover when you close the latter (check the attached picture). Not exactly what you'd expect from a $100 product.Another things that bothers me is the fact that the player isn't big enough to cover/fit the entire vinyl record. Not sure why they didn't make it a bit bigger...Now let's talk money. A similar record player with basic built in speakers goes for around $60. Let's assume that you like how detached speakers look and you would prefer this product. For the quality of sound these speakers offer, I would say another $15-$20 on top of the baseline, maybe...? Bottom line, I would expect this product to be priced no higher than $80 and definitely not almost $100. Pricey.Final rating: 3.5/5 stars
