Jeremiah's Pick Coffee Organic French Roast Whole Bean Coffee, 5-Pound Bag

I love dark, rich, smoky coffee, and this coffee comes close enough to warrant 5 stars. I wanted the convenience of Amazon's subscription service, but I was looking for a good value, too. I took a chance and I'm delighted -- it's so delicious, I actually drink more coffee! (Like I needed to.)The beans are dark and glossy and look so good, you might not be able to resist popping one in your mouth. (I confess: I do.) The flavor is rich, complex, and robust. There's no bitterness that sometimes accompanies beans roasted this dark.I do wish there was more smoky flavor -- it's there, but more subtle than, say, Starbucks version. The upside is that there's more depth to the other flavors. A dark roast connoisseur will appreciate the blend of bold earthy tastes.I'd consider this the next step if you like an intense premium dark roast from the grocery store. This will definitely widen your palate and raise your expectations.Overall, an excellent value for superbly roasted beans.

Wow, I hit the jackpot with this brand. It's everything I want in a French Roast. It's got that classic smokey, rich, oily French Roast flavor that is my absolute favorite. I've bought too many French Roast coffee, whole bean style, and they've tasted like diner coffee. This brand is fantastic. I am a bit of a French Roast snob, I just don't get other styles of coffee, they never taste up to what I want. But this, this is the best!

After making my first pot I was very unhappy and tried to return but this is not returnable. Beans are oily and stick to my my grinder unlike other beans I have used. Also, first pot tasted burnt and I ended up dumping the pot. Once I found that I am stuck with 5lbs of beans I decided to pick thru the beans and remove the burnt and off looking beans. This drastically improved the taste and I do really like the taste. Perhaps I got a bad batch or poor quality control on this bag. Just not worth effort! I doubt I will buy again.

It’s not Peets but it’s pretty darn tasty and of value. Can’t really go wrong

A friend recommended I get this coffee and so glad I did. It's organic, super fresh, and the taste isn't too dark nor too light (if anything, leaning toward dark). I've been grinding it a small amount at a time and put in a sealed glass container so it's working out great. I'll buy it again when I run out.

The flavor profile of this coffee is EXACTLY what I was looking for!! Full bodied and flavorful, but not even a hint of bitterness. This is now my favorite brand.

I now have to make this another five star choice!!!!! ....I enjoy this coffee tremendously -- there is no aftertaste, no acidic issue at all--how lovely that is!!!!! I am a diehard lover of Fogbuster. However, that being said, this is a very, very nice French Roast that does not have an aftertaste nor is it acidic. I do not understand the comments that stated that this coffee leaves a bitter aftertaste and that it is acidic. Jeremiah's Fogbuster, this is not but a wonderful French roast sure to please it is!!! It has a substantial flavor; hearty without being overpowering. I am glad to say that I have enjoyed many French Press cups of Jeremiah's French Roast every day and shared soem with a friend of mine who also loves this coffee. The rest of the beans will be devoured. And, while I still love Fogbuster -- I now have to admit to loving with this coffee as well. Thanks Jeremiah's Pick for delicious coffees.

I really enjoy this coffee, and look forward to grinding and brewing it fresh each morning. Since I relied heavily on the reviews of previous customers, I thought I would add my take on Jeremiah's Organic French Roast.We all constantly search for the perfect coffee, and since we all have different opinions, it is a subjective endeavor. When you commit to "try" a 5 pound bag of coffee, you put your trust in people who have evaluated the product in a similar way. Folks, this is good coffee. My taste buds are not professionally trained, but they know what I like. Strong, full of flavor, and if it has an acid or bitter taste, I'll be darned if I can find it. Good luck in your coffee quest. This is a winner in my house!
