Happy HoundsOscar Rectangle Orthopedic Foam Sherpa Dog Bed, Extra Small (24 x 18 in.), Red

I have 2 yellow labs. One is almost 14. He has hip and rear leg problems. This bed has been a Godsend. I put it in our family room . He was on it within 20 minutes, loves to nap on it. I laid down with him the first time and it is so cushiony soft I wanted to take a nap on it. Wish I had gotten it sooner. Plan to get another one for our bedroom where he sleeps at night.

First, this bed is really not as soft as I had anticipated. The dog did use it, but I didn't get the impression it was all that comfortable. Certainly she seemed to go to it more because she thought she was supposed to than because she looked like she wanted to.Second, you'd better hope you never ever have to clean it. Peeling the cover off is an ordeal, but the real fun starts when you try to put it back on.This became a real problem for us because there was something about this bed that made our rescue cats decide it was an awesome substitute for a litter box. We ended up having to just put the bed away.

Update 3 months later: Our Milo loved his new bed so much that I bought a 2nd one for a day mat by my desk. He and one of our cats take turns claiming it. In the evening, Milo wants it moved next to out recliners - easy to do since it's so light weight. So I ordered a 3rd one for my daughter's 2 medium size dogs for Christmas. They don't usually take to mats, but both loved this so much that I'm back for a 4th one so they each have their own. (Yes, I spoil my 4-legged kids!)One hint - The cover is tedious to remove for washing so I picked up a couple of soft, cheap 48x60 throws from WalMart to use over the mat. They're long enough to tuck in front and back for a nice look and so much easier to throw in the wash. You can change this cover whenever you want something different. In addition, this was an easy way to address the chewing problem. When Milo chews out of frustration, he gets the cover, not the bed.Original review: This bed was an instant hit with our 115-lb Lab/Great Dane mix. The minute we showed him it was his, he laid down on it and keeps going back to it wherever we move it. At 7 or 8 years old, he has hip dysplasia in both hips and bare spots on his "elbows" from laying in a concrete kennel so long. This bed must feel really good to him. After a few minutes, he came up to me and my sister as if to thank us, and then went right back to lie down.We bought it to replace a Kong bed that came with him 2 years ago when we adopted him. Unlike the Kong, which was bulky and heavy, this bed is light enough to move around easily. The foam is "egg crate," as other reviewers have noted, but it is clearly firm enough to give him comfort. Only time will tell if it holds up, but it was such a big hit that I'm back to buy 2 more for the family room and patio, in lieu of moving this one from place to place since it gives him such comfort..The 48 x 36 inch size is just right for our "baby horse", and the foam is 4 1/2 inches deep, The cover is white plush on one side, with the remaining sides a soft velvety medium brown that is dark enough to not show dirt. The zipper extends across one end and down about 6" on the adjacent sides for easy removal for washing. I had no trouble opening the zipper to check out the filling. The zipper is covered with a flap of the brown material, and the product appears to be well made. If the filling ever needs washing, I imagine you could hose it off and leave it to dry in the sun, but I doubt that will ever be necessary.Milo (our dog) coexists peacefully with my sister's two cats, but they don't interact much. However, I think it won't be long before they all share this comfy spot. They've already been checking it out. I would give this more than 5 stars if I could just because of the way Milo took to it so quickly and clearly loves it.

I was very impressed with this dog bed. Arrived promptly, well packaged. Item is well made but would be hard to keep clean. I purchased this to supplement a dog bed cushion that I already have that is rather soft. I placed this new cushion under the other so that my dog has more orthopedic support and more height in his bed. The cushion appears to be strong and firm, which is just what I wanted. My pup does not fuss to go to bed; he seems to be comfortable and seems to love it. To remedy the cleaning concern, I took a canvas cover that I previously had on another cushion that is waterproofed on the inside and put a zipper in it to use as a permanent zip cover for this nice dog bed. It has already saved me on one occasion when puppy got sick in his kennel. At this point, I am well pleased with this dog bed. Fits so perfectly in his kennel he cannot get at the zipper to chew on it. The canvas cover I put on it saves the bed, as I am sure he would love chewing on the soft fleece mattress material. Just a note to those who own dogs who love chewing everything up. Recommended; just take some extra precautions to keep the bed nice!

No me gusto, aunque mi animalito duerme bien, les me hizo carísimo el producto, comparado con la calidad y el tiempo de entrega, tardo mucho, muy caro ademas gastos de envío, y la base o tela muy corriente la rompió(desgarro) prácticamente llegando. No me gusto.

I have 3 small-medium dogs that can all fit on it at the same time, enough support for my older dog as well. Excellent dog pillow

Our 14 year old 75 lb doodle immediately took to the bed. We have a couple of memory foam beds, specifically for her 'achy' joints, and she seems to prefer this one.The extra star isn't ticked because we haven't had to launder the cover yet. Time will tell regarding the wear and tear.

Great dog bed. Cover is easily removed and washed, cushion seems pretty comfy, my dog loves it. But I don't know what they mean by "water resistant". It is by no means waterproof. Good luck if you get that foam dirty, it is not easy to wash and dry (cover is easy to wash though). I bought a waterproof baby crib mattress cover for 20$ to put over the foam. Now I'm pretty happy with the whole thing, I wish I had done that earlier. Still a good buy, pretty happy with it.

Works well worth the dough!
