Extremely bright and portable! Great warranty!!
Amazing flashlight! Extremely bright for it's size, perfect size to carry for EDC. Battery life last forever on the rechargeable battery but the peace of mind of having an extra replacement battery is amazing!Customer support is amazing as well! I was approaching the 2 year mark and developed a small crack on the internal housing and support replaced the flashlight without hesitation. Love RovyVon and all of their products!

Five star, but I have a few concerns.
Five star, but I have a few concerns. It comes down to a QUESTION of what do you want in a flashlight? Do you want something that you can grab immediately to get some LIGHT or do you want something that you will CHERISH, because it's fun to PLAY WITH?Actually I totally love this flashlight, I was too cheap to buy the titanium flashlight for $220.00, but I wanted a flashlight that had all the features, and I got my money's worth for $39.00 with coupon.First off, the buttons are high grade, but entirely too small. This makes the flashlight hard to operate. Below I talk about the 5 click lockout button. I spent the better part of 10 minutes trying to get something to light up on it. I truly believed it was defective. I read and reread the very confusing owners manual, but to no avail when suddenly it sprang to life. I don't even know what I did. But it was that lockout feature. See below. The 5 click lockout button, is a feature that is designed to prevent the flashlight from accidentally turning on in your pocket or when carrying it. But these buttons don't accidentally turn on because they have a good solid click to them, and it means that you won't have access to light when you need it. I can't confirm 100% but it appears that the flashlight is still drawing current off of the battery if it's not locked out (because if requires a significant charge just by leaving it unattended overnight), so you will need to lock it off to save the battery. This ensures that you won't have light when you need it. Because the lockout feature requires patience and a precise even fast sequential even 5 press. And since the buttons are unlikely to turn on by accident they should do away with this feature or have a 5 second hold down lockout feature instead. But it does ensure the battery will never run down when stored for long periods of time.I particularly like the fact that the first click after you finally get the thing turned on, is the Moonlight mode by 1 fast click. You can press and hold the top button and this will be your brightest light as a momentary light but it takes a second to start up, when you release the button it's out. That's what I mean by momentary. And I really like the cycles of low, medium, high. Which is to double click the top button and pace through the modes. I like that arrangement because sometimes you don't want to get flooded with light if you're using it by the bedside. So you want to start out easy low, medium and high. Note, triple click is the strobe feature. All of these clicks, features and time out modes could be better Suited, if they just had it ramp up and ramp down in brightness. Let go of the button when you're at the right brightness for your need.Mine is the Warm White, and it's okay but if it was any whiter I wouldn't want it.This flashlight, is not designed to destroy it'self with overheated circuits, so on the brightest setting it's not as bright as you might expect these days for an LED flashlight. However, you really don't want something that is going to light up your home like a football stadium, because you'll have retina burn. With this flashlight it's not going to kill the eyes. And as careful as you might be, sooner or later you're going to look at it. This flashlight is safe. And the battery life is really good, ignore their crazy charts. I'm here to tell you that they don't know what they're talking about. The lithium ion battery lasts a very long time and so far I can't even run it down. And the AAA battery they say, wasn't tested, last longer, last shorter. They don't have a clue how long it last. Neither do I but I haven't been able to run it down either. Both batteries seem to last forever even if there is a residual power drain when not locked off. But again it's not the brightest torch in town. Now about the side lights. It's merry Christmas. You'll have a lot of fun playing with all the features and mine is a Warm White for reading a book in the night. But you'll never be able to read their instruction manual night or day, and it's not the flashlights fault. Their manual is ridiculously confusing and they don't even use the right words. Quite simply, some of the words are just picked out of a hat somewhere. Bizarre. Conclusion, I absolutely love this plastic Wonder. No cracks yet, fingers crossed. I know people have complained about cracks in the plastic. I don't think that's going to happen, but it's pretty thin and so you don't want to drop it, and personally carrying it on a key ring might damage it. But I love it as a play toy, and it has a nice beam too. Not spot, not flood. The beam is a 3-ft circle (from 5 ft away) with a frosty Edge, color perfect, no leakage of color. It's just what you would expect for a Perfect Warm White pen light flashlight with beautiful light that you could never get from any incandescent bulb and it's a bit brighter then the pen light flashlights you bought in 1968.

Nice product with room for minor improvements
Pros: Brightness, throw, size and weight all very good. This thing shines (no pun intended) when you clip it to the rim of your ball cap.. AWESOME improvised head lamp... I also like the side LEDs, beacon mode, and especially the ability to use standard AAA battery as a backup (the real reason I purchased this)...Picky room for improvement items: Battery life good, but not good enough; Side buttons don't inspire confidence that it won't turn on when bumped during transport; Recharging port cover removal a PITA (they include a replacement in the package, so apparently they are aware)Solid product that I recommend, if you need a really good headlamp on occasion or if you need to be seen (flashing beacon can't be missed)

New favorite Everyday Flashlight!
I really like this flashlight for a couple of reasons, first of all I like blue, so this checks an esthetic look off the list, I also like things that glow in the dark which checks another box off my list. This flashlight glows in the dark in blue which is really nice because you won't find other companies making glow in the dark items or flashlights that glow blue. Next up I also really like that I can swap between using the rechargeable battery and regular AAA battery as the power source. It's very useful because it allows me to have a good flashlight that fits comfortably in my pocket; that has a reserve battery which gives me more use time from it. Definitely worth buying. The only thing I'd change is having a lanyard that comes with this or maybe having a magnetic clip for this instead of the non-magnetic clip. Oh and the side floodlights a little dim, so a slightly brighter floodlights on the side would be nice.

An Amazing Flashlight
I got this flashlight to use for backpacking - something that would be very light, compact and provide different lighting levels (low light for around camp, high light for those times when I must hike at night). The RovyVon lights have an excellent reputation and this E5 does not disappoint. The varying levels of light are perfect for my needs. I can clip it on my cap when I need a headlamp. And the fact that I can use a disposable/replaceable battery to backup the power for extended trips so I don't need to bring a heavy power cell to recharge is a great option. I am very happy with this light.

Powerful and versatile
This little EDC LED flashlight is very powerful. I use its brighter options when out walking my dogs. I use the moonlight option when moving around my house at night and I don’t want to bother the family. I also really like to side white and red LED options. I often set the light on my nightstand with the red LEDs gently illuminating the room. I travel quite a bit for work and this function is great to use in unfamiliar hotel room. Or in your Caribbean cruise state room. I did have one it malfunction. I contacted customer service and they quickly replaced the unit. Kudos to them! There are several illumination options and it does take a bit of practice to remember how to control each option with just 2 buttons.

Great light lots of options
Really powerful little light. I love that you can charge it via USB and have a AAA battery backup. Multiple light options, small enough I wish they had included a lanyard.

Small. Handy. Functional
I love the idea that it works with BOTH an internal rechargeable battery AND a AAA battery at the same time. The controls are not ideal but work well enough. A little complicated to remember which button sequence does what but I guess it’s easy enough to keep pressing buttons until you get what you want. Also there doesn’t seem to be a lock setting to keep the lights off while in a pack or bag.I like the size, the battery options and the light the unit provides.

Great light with multiple functions
I first bought the version with blacklight, and liked it so much i also bought the version with red light. My favourite thing about these lights is the variety of functions. It can be used as a regular flashlight with a good variety of brightness levels (the top level is easily bright enough for anything I require). But it also can be used as a white-light lantern (bright enough to light up a room nicely) or as a specialty light.Another terrific feature is the ability to use it with both rechargeable and regular batteries. It's great to know that, if I manage to wear out the rechargeable battery I use primarily (though I've never come close yet), it has the AAA cell as a fallback.I also like the rectangular form factor, it fits well in my pouch or pocket.Highly recommend for anyone with less-than-extreme needs.
