This is real copper, good amount, good price. You can choose between hard, half-hard and dead soft. This copper ages, so if you want something with a anti-tarnish seal, don't get this. But if you enjoy the look of the copper aging or putting a patina on it yourself, this is such a good deal.

HEY COPPER WIRE USA - MARK THE WIRE PROFILE ON YOUR LABELS TO AVOID PICKING THE WRONG ONE FOR ORDERS!!!Copper Wire USA picked the wrong item, due to this issue! 😤😤 I ordered 2 spools of 26 gauge dead soft ROUND copper wire and they sent me HALF ROUND WIRE......BOTH SPOOLS ARE HALF ROUND! (I double checked my order and ROUND is what I actually ordered)I bought these two spools at the same time, on March 16, 2022, therefore I have surpassed the 30 day return deadline, so Amazon is graciously refunding my money. THANK YOU AMAZON! 💜Original comments:So I am new to wire wrapping jewelry, and my fingers had been raw and numb while using this wire, so I did not notice that it is half round instead of round, until today, after a long break from wire wrapping while working on administrative duties for my new shop. 🤦 This wire kept breaking while weaving and attaching components, which has been so very frustrating, and now I know why! Clearly I did not notice it visually. 🤦Edited: The raw and numb fingers were really on my left, non dominant hand. Thinking further, as detail oriented as I am, I really would have felt that the wire was half round from the start in my right, dominant hand (because I stocked two other gauges of half round wire prior to mid March, 2022, so I do know what it feels like☝️) and noticed it visibly, within the refund deadline. After taking a good look at the jewelry I made since mid March this year, using a decent magnifier, the weaving and coils are tight and neat and the 26 gauge wire is visibly round. (I was unexpectedly complimented for my tight weaving and coiling skills by a well respected wire jeweler last month) If this wire was half round on those pieces, they would look very messy because I wouldn't be paying attention to which side of the wire is facing up because, up until today, it had felt and looks round. So my theory is that perhaps the first spool that I have been using had round wire wound on to the outer third of the spool, and the remaining two thirds is half round wire. The second spool is half round right at the start. So in Copper Wire USA's defense, perhaps this is a fluke, but really there is an easy fix. Regardless, I stand by my suggestion to print the wire profile (ie. round, half round, square, etc.) on the label, in addition to the gauge.Edited:Get it together COPPER WIRE USA!! I don't know if you wind the wire spools in-house. If so, pay attention to what you're winding! Had the labels been marked with the profile, perhaps this mistake may not have happened! It is an easy fix!! Regardless, I WILL spread the word! Additionally I will not order from you again!

This wire is very easy to work with when making jewelry. It is easy to weave and easy to wrap. Comes nicely rolled on a spool for ease of use.

I felt like I should write a review, as this wire really exceeded my expectations. Most other vendors are selling enameled or clear-coated wire - which is useless for electrical applications or those where an artist is looking for a patina to develop over time.I'm in the former camp and am completely satisfied with the purchase. I tested the surface resistance right away with a quality meter and verified that it's nice and electrically clean. It also has a nice firmness that makes it easy to work with and solder up. The wire comes in a heat-sealed plastic bag, which I'm sure was intended to prevent corrosion. That certainly worked, as the wire is bright and shiny.The only small thing is that the wire is very tightly wound so it naturally springs out as soon as you use any of it. However, that really wasn't a big problem at all. I added a couple zip ties (see photos) and that completely took care of that little issue.If I ever have the need for the same or similar wire, I'll definitely be checking out this seller before any others. Highly recommend. Thanks.

Super easy to use, makes pretty pendants! Does oxide! Can tarnish kinda quickly if worn into a pool or ocean, pretty much any water :)

I ordered half hard but this wire is far softer than expected - even at 16 gauge it’s super easy to bend and I worry it’s not stiff enough for what I’m trying to do. Possibly they sent dead soft instead of half hard, but since the label on one side of the spool is missing and the other just says the gauge, I don’t know for sure.
