Adesso 3029-01 Gala Arc Lamp, Black

I am so excited about this lamp! As soon as it arrived, I pulled it out of the box and put it together. Assembly was quick and easy. Tested it out with both incandescent and CFL bulbs, although I need to get 3-way bulbs to maximize the potential of this lamp. The light coming from the the shades was perfect between the couch and loveseat, and the color through the shade very warm. It goes perfect with my decor and I could not be more pleased with this product!

The lamp was really well packaged, I was actually impressed. The box wasn't too big, it was just very well packaged and it arrived undamaged. Assembly was straight forward and fairly simple. The base doesn't seem super secure, though. And the base is also pretty large, making putting the lamp in a corner difficult.The arc is adjustable, which is great. My only issue is the head of the lamp that pivots doesn't have a broad enough range. If you wanted the arc to be shorter, the shade will not be level and it'd have to point outward because the head can't bend past a 90° angle. Hopefully that makes sense.Otherwise, the lamp is stylish and gives off a nice soft light.

Needed a lamp to go behind a chair in our small study to focus light down on the paper or book. This worksperfectly. We had used a torchiere before which I hated. I was afraid it would be too dark, but the defused light of theshade makes it not stand out in the small room, but provides enough light to read and still not glare when the TV ison in close proximity. The on/off switch was not conveniently placed since it is be behind the chair, so I plug the cord into a timer in the outlet that is reachable while sitting in the chair and operate the on/of through the timer.

This lamp is not good quality. The lamp shade is flimsy at best and the color is BLACK, Not the rich brown shown in the picture. It seems delicate and lovely in the picture but it is instead bulky and overpowering. If I had seen this lamp I would never have purchase such an ugly item.

The shade in the picture looks brown- but the whole thing is black. Works well but brown would have looked nicer.

Awesome lamp. Came quickly, perfect condition. Looks beautiful in my living room. Yes, the shade does look black when the light is not on, but with the light on (I use a 30/70/100 3-way) it's the very nice, rich brown glow as in the picture. The base is heavy enough to fully support the lamp. Fabulous! !

This is perfect for my office. Shines right over my desk and puts the light where I need it most so I do not have to put on those unsightly, headache causing florescent ceiling lights. Looks great too!!

The lamp is nice looking metropolitan modern style. The quality is somewhat on the cheaper side, but still well within the quality for price category. The shade is actually Black, both inner and outer shades. The color does change to deep Black/Brown once the light is actually turned on.Some reviewers stated that the base was too light. Well not in my case, the base was very heavy and appropriate. I do believe that my box was originally an "open box", based on the doubled up packing tape on the outside and some packing material out of place. So I'm sure it was a returned item. My lamp came with it's electrical cord with some White Styrofoam semi adhered to the outside of the cord, which eventually scraped off using my fingernails.All in all, it's nice looking lamp, but could use a bit better quality control back in China.
