Failed after less than one hour of work
Connected to mbp 2016 and imported about 60 gb of video clips into final cup pro. After some editing, the disk ejected itself out. I put it back in and restarted fcp. After a few minutes, ssd ejected again, this time permanently failed. No blue light, no nothing. Was so disappointed. This is my second t3 ssd (first one was pluggable 1tb, working flawlessly for abt six months). Returning this back to amazon for a refund.

Tiny, well made, and fast as heck
The aluminum case is nice. It's heavy and solidly built. It is definitely transferring at thunderbolt 3 speeds. I use it for midi instrument libraries and have had no issue with loading delays or stuttering. I am going to buy another one because of how much I like this one. I am happily surprised. It also comes with a nice bag that feels as if it's got EM protection woven in, though I have no way to test if this is true or of its just a nifty bag. Also comes with a thunderbolt cable. Worked right out of the box with no issues. At $175 for 2tb of thunderbolt 3 speed, it's a bargain.

Works out of the box
Saw YouTube video on this product. Read/Write times looked really impressive right out of the box. Works with Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 4 ONLY - I tried on a USB-C v3 on my M1 iMac - no go. So check you hardware before you buy -- If it fits, good value for money.Oh - if you tried to load say - 500GB at one time - the unit does heat up and slow down. But once finished, and cools somewhat (my impression) the speed returns.Happy with my purchase.

Product sold is product advertised and performs as specified... affordable and fast!
I purchased the pre-assembled Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4 and USB 4 compatible PCIe SSD external enclosure with a 4TB NVMe SSD already inside the metallic case/heat-sink from the Amazon TEKQ Store. The external enclosure is designed to radiate heat and cool the internal SSD. My new laptop does not have a USB-4 port so I was unable to test USB-4 compatibility. What shipped inside the external SSD enclosure was a Micron/Crucial Technology 4TB PCIe (Gen3x4) P3 Series NVMe M.2 (2280) SSD (CT4000P3SSD8), as well as a 26" Thunderbolt 3 USB Type-C cable, metallic-like fabric carrying case, extra screws and a miniature Philips head screwdriver were also included with the product(s) sold.I use Micron/Crucial Technology SATA-III SSD in my older laptops. The Micron/Crucial Technology SSD P3 series is one of the best rated having sequential read and write speeds of 3,500 MBps and 3,000 MBps as well as a SSD endurance (TBW) of 800TB over its expected lifetime.Data transfer rates were well above 2,500 MBps (Read 2,900 MBps and Write 2,600 MBps) as stated on the Amazon website and on the packaging of the external SSD enclosure, which equates to Thunderbolt speeds of at least 20Gbps.Since my new laptop does NOT have a USB 4 port (20/40Gbps) and only supports USB 3.2 @10Gbps (Gen2x1) and not 20Gbps (Gen2x2) , having a Thunderbolt port and this 4TB external Thunderbolt SDD with at least 20Gbps data transfer speeds is great! Much better than the fastest USB 3.2 SATA-III HDD.I believe if I had separately purchased the TEKQ external SSD enclosure and a Micron/Crucial Technology 4TB PCIe (Gen4x4) P3 Series Plus 3D NAND NVMe M.2 SSD (CT4000P3PSSD8) instead, Thunderbolt speeds of up 5,000MBps or 40Gbps would have been possible. TEKQ should be able to advise if Thunderbolt data transfer speeds of 5,000MBps or 40Gbps is possible using their external SSD enclosure, or not? However, I am satisfied with my purchase from TEKQ. My new laptop has a USB 3.2 Type C port with a Thunderbolt 3 bridge to the PCIe bus that is Gen3x4 @ 8.0 GT/s so I may not have benefited from faster data transfer rates with a 4TB Micron/Crucial Technology PCIe (Gen4x4) P3 Plus NVMe SSD.Separately purchasing the TEKQ external SSD enclosure and the 4TB Micron/Crucial Technology PCIe (Gen3x4) P3 Series NVMe M.2 (2280) SSD (CT4000P3SSD8) on Amazon would have saved me $20 but spending the extra $20 was well worth knowing the TEKQ external SSD enclosure with a 4TB PCIe NVMe SSD already inside would work when I plugged it into my new laptop. Thanks TEKQ!

Not reliable at all - SSD dead after less than 2 hours
I purchased this external Thunderbolt 3 drive mainly for the enclosure. I was surprised to see it came with a 1TB Crucial P3 drive as they are known for reliability. It died quickly. While backing up my Mac Studio M2. Max, the drive just disappeared and I the MacOS Eject before removing popup. I went to unplug from the drive and it was way hotter than even I expected. The P3 is a PCIe x3 drive, so it shouldn't get this hot! I let it cool and plugged it back in. Nothing.MacOS's Disk Utility, when viewing all devices is selected, doesn't even show the enclosure. Over to a PC we go. I first plugged it into a USB-C port, knowing it won't work but should be detected, and surprisingly it was detected with the warning that Thunderbolt may not function properly. I plugged it into a Thunderbolt port and the enclosure showed up, but no drive.Pulling the SSD out and replacing it with a rather new Sabrent Rocket 4TB, it was alive and kicking - and definitely putting up some great transfer rates, so back to the Mac Studio. I should note on the Mac Studio I was running MacOS Sonoma Developer Beta and restored the Mac back to Ventura while I was testing the enclosure on my PC.The Mac picked the drive up immediately. I ran Blackmagic Disk Speed Test and actually got slightly better performance from the enclosure/Sabrent combo than I did the internal drive. Impressive. Now, with nothing to back up (I used Time Machine to back up to a home server) I started reinstalling Office and other apps. Without any further use, the drive was sitting idle and bam, "Eject drive before disconnecting" pops up. So it's not the Mac, not MacOS, not the Crucial drive, it's the enclosure. Remember, the drive was idle - so it shouldn't be anything above warm - it was burning hot.I submitted for an exchange and will see what the replacement yields. I will update this review as pertinent to the replacement drive. All electronics end up with bad units, so I've given them another chance. We'll see what happens, but for now I would recommend avoiding, even though this is a great price for the 1TB.

Un des seul SSD Thunderbolt 3 !!! (version 2 To) Le top
