Aquarium Placement Mat, 18-Inch

Back in the day, I would cut styrofoam insulation sheets to fit under an aquarium. They held up okay, but looked a bit cheesy. They were a necessary evil when it came to using less-than-perfect aquarium stands.This product has the benefits of those styrofoam sheets but with a much better look and they seem a lot more durable. I would use these on all smaller aquariums, especially those that are small enough they don't make stands for them (bookshelf/desk-sized aquariums). I feel like it would greatly increase the life expectancy of the silicone keeping the aquarium together and would really be beneficial to protect the surface the aquarium is placed on.

My fault for not reading the description more carefully- this is for an 18 inch cube instead of a rectangular shaped tank. However it seems to be doing it's job padding the bottom of the tank, and it looks easy enough to trim down to size if I decide to.

I purchase this mat for my cube aquarium and I like the material and the thickness of it. However, my mat that I received was not cut straight at all. 2 sides of the mat were cut slightly crooked. This was realized when I sat my cube aquarium on the mat and the mat did not line up with the edges of the aquarium. Not a major deal but just not a 5 star product.

I've never used a mat before and didn't know what to expect. This was to be placed onto a table which I knew was not exactly level for a smaller aquarium. The mat made leveling the aquarium lots easier and saves the table top (even though it is glass :-))

Not a bad product, the sticker on the mat would not come off which wasn't really good. More or less did what I wanted it to.

Does everything it says it does. Evens out slight unevenness at the base of the tank. At 18x18 though, either it's slightly larger or my 18x18 tank is slightly smaller than advertised. Still, it's less than a quarter inch larger than the tank.

Must have as aquarium mat. Using 3 of them for different tanks

I got this for an 8 gallon tank and cut it down to size leaving a couple inches all around, it is working great and protecting my stand from any spills.
