Laser Cutter
I recently bought a laser cutter. This is the third brand of wood that I’ve bought and it is much better than the other two. Cuts and engraves are very consistent on all the pieces in the box. I just ordered another pack.

Decent wood with some warping
Some of these came warped. The thickness varied a bit from plank to plank. But for the most part, they are close to 3mm, within tolerances. This looks like decent wood that will work with laser well. Unfortunately my laser unit isn’t in working condition right now so I can’t test these blanks. But I don’t see why these would not work. Once I get my laser in order and try these out, I will update my review.

Thicker than other basswood
First off I love how many sheets you get. I also love that it comes in its own little box so you can just store the wood in the box if you want to. This is definitely thicker than some other brands of basswood so I was really nervous to use in my Cricut. I did try to do a cut and It didn't cut through the first time but I was able to change my pressure to heavy pressure and using the knife blade I was able to cut out a design! I did have to do 3 passes. I am excited to mess around with it some more and see if I can get it to work for a larger design. I just did a small snowflake to see if it would cut. Overall a great product and again you get tons of basswood sheets.

Lots of warped boards, but they cut and stain well
When I received this wood, several pieces were visibly warped, even while still wrapped in plastic. Warped wood happens; this is why we have bed pins to hold material down in the laser. I tried flatting the pack by pressing them under a heavy weight for several days, but this didn't help at all.The surface was already quite smooth, but I gave it a light sanding before applying stain and immediately wiping off the excess (Varthane Sedona Roja was used here). The wood took the stain beautifully.I cut this using the Glowforge "medium basswood plywood" preset, and it cut beautifully. There was a little flashback on the back (not shown), but not much, and that's my fault for not masking. While I usually use 12"x20" wood for my projects, this 12x12 is suitable for plenty of things. If it remains available at this price, I will surely buy more.

good for crafting projects as well as cnc
These are very good sheets of balsa wood. They're on the expensive side though. Each sheet is evenly thick and without places where a crack could easily develop. No warping too. If you're going to carve these using a laser engraver it would be best to use a honeycomb bed. You'll get a cleaner cut and protect you work top as well.

A Nice Pile of Wood for Laser Cutting/Engraving
This is a nice stack of wood to feed your laser cutter for all of those projects that require pieces less than 12" or 300mm. The thickness came in at 7/64" or a little under 3mm according to my calipers. I don't think I have ever worked with basswood plywood before -- it is extremely light weight. The core appears to be wood rather than MDF and the vaneers are about as think as most material of this type. The pieces I have looked at so far are nice an clear with no voids, knots, or other disturbances.
