Good and Bad
Update - I've updated my rating based on quality of customer service. They stand by their products and will do all that is necessary to make right any issues. This is very much appreciated, and I would gladly do business with them again and would recommend to others. The good:Perfect size: Was able to hold a large hard shell suitcase (non-carry-on sized), a medium sized soft suitcase (carry-on sized) and a child sized suitcase with tons of room leftover.Durable material: This applies to the bag itself only (see the bad below). I was very impressed with the material, especially at this price point. Quite rugged/tough . I had no concerns of it failing or ripping with my cargo. The zipper is solid. And the attached shell secures very nicely.Waterproof: Wasn't expecting to have to test this out on its first trip, but sure enough we encountered rain for a good 1.5 hrs and it was dry as a bone inside.Flexibility: Nicely configured straps for versatility of securing to vehicle (see below for problem with these though)Storage: It folds down easily and comes with a nice storage bag.The bad:Hardware durability: This is keeping me at 3 stars for now. The plastic hardware on this bag is very weak. While securing for the first time, two pieces broke as pictured. Given that you need this hardware in order to secure to your vehicle, this is a big problem. Luckily, I had ratchet straps available that I ended up using in addition to the attached straps. Again, the configuration of the attached straps is quite nice and allows for a lot of versatility. But had I not had my ratchet straps, I probably wouldn't have used this product at all as I wouldn't have felt safe securing it to my Jeep relying solely on plastic hardware that broke on first use.Overall, I really like this product. If the plastic hardware wasn't so weak, I'd easily give this a 5. But since that's a vital component for safety, I can't do that. I would still recommend this, but only if you use another primary method for securing (i.e. ratchet straps) and then use the supplied plastic hardware as a secondary form of attaching to your vehicle.

This cargo carrier is made from a heavy duty durable material. It has a nice roof mat to protect the finish of your vehicle. It folds down nice and small for storage when not in use. It's not as aerodynamic as some hard sided carriers but its many straps allow it to synch down nicely even when only partially loaded. While good, the many straps can be a hindrance if you will need to access the bag frequently. Not storm tested but it seems to be watertight. This is a reasonably priced, durable, cargo carrier that is easy to store when not in use. Get one for your next adventure.

Extreme rooftop cargo bag
I own 2 different rooftop cargo bags, and a cargo basket for perspective reference. Sometimes - especially when on a road trip, where you are unsure of parking garages and drive-throughs - it’s better to skip a fixed cargo basket and opt for a bag.The competitor bag I own is similar in size, and similar in features but cheaper. However this bag lives up to its “Extremus” name with added durability upgrades.First off, this bag packs down remarkably small considering how tough the material appears to be. I have included a pic bagged for reference. Fitting in the bag is also a roof mat to protect your finish. The mat is identical to tool chest liners, or heavy duty drawer liners. Also fitting in the bag are auxiliary straps to offer mounting flexibility. (See pic)The bag itself is a rubberized or polyurethane type material that is durable and flexible. Seams appear to be radio welded, and straps and handles are securely stitched on via a thick nylon string (see detail pics). Ideally, I’d like to see double-stitching, but combined with the radio welds, I believe it should be durable enough for normal usage.Where this bag really excels, is the VERY generous zipper awning. On the sides, the awning helps to keep the bag “sightly” when running less than full loads. Tightening the tension straps compresses the load, and the awning covers the folds / crevices. This is important for rain and muddy conditions. Without it, there would be increased pooling of water and mud on the bag, waiting to fall on you when accessing the bag. The awning in the front ensures that entry points are unfazed by anything thrown at it… water, snow, mud, bugs, etc. Given this feature, I have no doubt that a cross-country drive through the worst of winter would not be an issue.Another great feature of this bag, is the abundance of straps. There is so much flexibility when mounting, that instructions are really not needed. On said straps, there are adequate hardware to help minimize flapping noise while driving. Of course the downside is that adjusting straps and tension is a more tedious process. So what don’t I like about the bag? Given that the bag is made for more durable conditions, it is definitely more difficult to load than a cheaper flimsy bag. If you will be accessing the bag as often as a trunk… this might not be the bag for you. Operating straps and zippers are more difficult due to the build quality. For me, I don’t mind that trade off as I need something that will survive the occasional scrape with branches or the jostle of off-roading.Finally, as a loading tip, place the bag on your vehicle roof and load the bag BEFORE strapping it down. This will make loading and maneuvering the contents within the bag much easier to do. After you have loaded and distributed the bag to your liking, strap the bag down… then as a final step, tighten the center compression strap (also included a pic of the compression strap center). Doing it any other way can be frustrating, especially if you’re teetering up high like Spider-Man.Hope this review helps. If so, please leave me a “helpful.” Thanks and safe adventures!

Worked as advertised
Held up on a 1k mile trip with no issue. Rained on my return. No rain entered the bag. Used 3/4 inch PVC pipe to make an easy base for the cargo bag. Made it easy to load & unload the bag. Just a little time consuming at first install to get the straps adjusted & tightened correctly. The snap buckles may not appear to be very durable but gave me no issues. The bag has some thickness to it. The zipper is strong & moves smoothly. My initial leg of my trip I had significant noise on the roof. On my return home I had zero noise because I made sure the straps were very tight & used velcro straps to secure loose ends to the strap tightly. Can't speak on durability because I used it for one trip but its still in good condition.

Broken clip!
This looks like a quality product, made out of strong material. We are using it for the first time and loading it today. As we are trying to attach the straps we found the middle strap broken. I hoping to contact the company and get this straightened out, because otherwise it seems like a good product!
