New Best Friend!
Took this backpack on a multi-adventure trip to Alaska and it was everything I needed. The bladder kept me hydrated, the fit was perfect and very comfortable, the number of pockets helped me organize my gear easily and it was just the right weight. When not using the bladder, I would put a regular water bottle in the large part of the pack, along with jacket, snacks, and all the other stuff one needs when on a wild land (or township) journey. Have tried other high end brands, but this one was just right for me. Try it!

I have to admit that I was super skeptical. I used to carry the true real deal US Military Camelbak but age and abuse has taken its toll and it had finally been retired. As much as I loved that particular Camelbak...I like this more. I’ll tell you precisely why:I’ve recently started hiking often, and we all know the advantages of a hydration pack. Well this thing has some even over the real deal.1) Ability to keep water cold - genius execution. The storage pocket that houses the water bladder is lined in a reflective material. Sounds gimmicky but I’ve said for years this would make a profound difference. It does. After 8 hours with the real Camelbak (honestly well before 8 hours) your water wasn’t cold anymore. With this pack, it is. Surprisingly so.2) Insulated water tube - the Camelbak had this too, but the one here on this pack seems to stay in place better. It’s hugely effective too.3) Cleaning snake - seems like a small thing but the little water tube cleaning snake is nice to have. It’s handy.4) It doesn’t leak at all - my Camelbak had been through hell and I’d changed bite valves a few times. The locking system on this pack is a bit better and easier to execute operation on the move.5) Storage - it has about the same amount of storage as my OG Camelbak with the execution of the bottom. There is some bottom side straps that Camelbak didn’t utilize and this pack does. It does help secure the pack when running and they even have zip pouches. Very nice!6) Waterproofing- this pack is mostly water proof which is impressive for the cost. Got caught in a torrential downpour and the contents of my pack was about 95% dry so no complaints. However this is where the Camelbak has a leg up. I’ve never had water infiltration on that pack ever.7) Straps - the shoulder straps are easy to adjust and are quite comfortable. Utilization of D rings makes it easy to attach other gear such as a vacuum insulated carabiner kid water bottle for extra capacity. I only wish that they had used metal D rings for the pack instead of plastic. I may modify this part myself. But they haven’t broken yet. If you’re doing serious hiking or other things you know the importance of a pack being modular. Nicely done.8) Overall quality - the quality overall far surpasses the selling price. Again, I was skeptical but overly satisfied with what I’ve gotten. In summary I’d say this pack is an enormous value compared to the Camelbak counterparts. Sure, if you’re doing some serious white water or deployment things I would maybe say either modify a few portions of this pack or buy the Camelbak. But for the casual or even more hardcore hiker, this is all you’ll ever need.

Great pack for the price!
I purchased two of these for my Boyfriend and I to take hiking. We're amateur outdoors people and don't hike much, but wanted to hike the Rockies on a recent vacation. I knew we'd need more water then water bottles could carry so I set out to find us functional hydration packs that didn't cost a fortune and found these. For the price, they were excellent. They did the job and carried our water, a few small supplies, and some snacks. They were comfortable for our four hour hike. I liked the pocket on at the hip, perfect place for a map. My boyfriend even used his, without the bladder, as a personal item bag at the airport and it worked well to carry his iPad and other small belongs for the flight and fit easily under the seat. I also appreciated that it came with a "snake" brush to clean the straw. My only complaint is that the straw for the bladder was difficult to suck through. You had to really suck hard and it was annoying to try to do that and hike at the same time. I did check to make sure the tubing wasn't kinked and it was still tricky. Even thought I cleaned the bladders before filling, they still had a residual plastic taste. I image that would go away with more use. There is no separate compartments in the backpack itself either. Everything just stays together. Not a big deal, but I'd worry if you had something sharp in there and a full bladder. It seemed water resistant, but I wouldn't want to be caught with my electronics outside of a dry back in a rain storm in the pack. It was fairly cold when we hiked, so our water stayed cool. I can't really comment on the insulation. For the price, even considering the straw issue, I still think it's a great pack. If I hiked more, I'd probably replace the bladder with another brand, but continue to use the bag. It's a perfect bag for people who want to hike on a vacation or are starting out, but aren't serious hikers and want to spend $70 on a competitor brand. If you're a serious hiker or camper, I'd consider a better quality bag.

Too small for a grown man
Good pack and functions well but small. Fits my 10 year old nephew perfectly.

Perfect hiking/trail running backpack
10/10 bag, very ergonomic and perfectly sized. I don't use the hydration bag I just throw water bottles inside and use as a regular backpack. This one stuck out to me by its looks and size not being to big to run with and with enough capacity ro fill with enough water and snacks, the storage is great too with awesome organization inside

Useful
I got this as a birthday gift and took it on a hike. I love the smaller size than a regular backpack and the the bladder with the bite down tube was convenient for staying hydrated
