TEKQ[Intel Certified] Thunderbolt 3 SSD Bus Powered, 2250MB/s Read, 1850MB/s Write (COMPATIBLE with Thunderbolt 4 and USB 4 interface) (Crucial P2 2TB, Space Green)

This is the drive I've been waiting for. Straight out of the box it achieved 1900 MB/s write and 2200 MB/s read performance, this is on the 480GB version.This compares with about 2400/2750 on my Macbook built in drive which I believe is achieved by RAID'ing internally, so this is great performance for a single drive.I decided to upgrade it from the start with a WD Black SN750 1Tb drive, and this does give some performance enhancement. With this I achieve about 2200 write, 2400 read. Its a good but for my purposes not entirely necessary speed bump, but I'm happy enough with this.The drive comes with a nice fabric pouch and drawstring and a good quality Tbolt 3 cable. I also tried the drive with a premium Cable Matters certified Tbolt 3 cable and the performance was identical.So if you are looking for an external drive for a powered Tbolt 3 port, this is the one. Provided it keeps working, its a great product. Solid quality and good looking it does not look out of place next to Apple gear.

I'm using this with a 2021 MacBook Pro 16" via TB4 and achieving the advertised data transfer rates - whether connected directly or through a Razer Thunderbolt 4 Dock. Was a bit unsure about buying this as I hadn't come across this brand before, but online reviews seemed impressive and Amazon are always good if there's a problem. Happy to say that I'm really pleased with both performance and build quality - top notch. Highly recommended!

Bought this to run my 2017 iMac externally rather than the internal 'Fusion' drive.Installing was a breeze. Cloned the MacOS over in about 20 minutes.Boots up to a full desktop in under 30 seconds, It does feel quite warm though!*** Update - Although it runs quite smoothly, doing a Blackmagic speed test showsthe write speed to be around 460 MB/s, and the read at around 1428 MB/s.Nothing like the claimed speeds!The write speed being actually slower than the Fusion drive which averages out at around 880 MBs.I will keep it though as once it's booted up, it's a lot smoother and quieter than the internal HHD drive.Just not too impressed by the stated read/write times.

First and foremost: this drive only works if you have Thunderbolt 3. The description is clear on this, and it just won't work in USB-C or older versions of Tunderbolt.This drive was bought as an external boot drive for a Mac Mini 2018. The SSD in these Mac Mini are little speed demons, but the TEKQ Rapide just blows past them. With read speeds that are up to 50% faster and write speeds that are 2x as fast, there is little reason to update the SSD when buying a Mac Mini. Instead, boot straight from these TEKQ Rapide drives for only a fraction of the price. As an added bonus, you can open these drives and replace the SSD with something even faster such as a Samsung 970 (Evo or Pro), a Sandisk Extreme Pro, or a WD Black SN750.I can't vouch for the longevity, but I don't foresee any problems. The temperatures are under control thanks to the excellent build quality which amounts to a huge hunk of aluminium. The controller is a reliable Intel-made one so I'm confident this thing last a good long while. And if not, the drive comes with 3 years warranty.

Bought this as an alternative boot drive for my Mac Mini as the Thunderbolt 3 port was just sitting there and thought why not. Anyway connected it formatted it APFS as I do not need Windows compatibility used CC to clone the internal SSD and of it went. This thing is fast and boots up virtually as fast as the internal SSD (about 2 seconds longer). I have never seen the case temperature rise abouve 35 oC but I am not really pushing it hard just some short Video editing and general use. It looks great feels quality and the supplied cable is great, a bit short but I guess long cables will not work at these speeds. And of course the big plus it supports Trim without any messing about under Mojave. All in all very happy, nice one TEKQ.

I bought this to expand the tiny internal SSD on my 2019 Mac Mini. I’ve installed the operating system on it and found that I get pretty much the same benchmark performance on this beauty as the internal SSD. I can’t recommend it enough!

You would think with certifications from all the big boys this would be a no brainer but on my new MSI summit flip evo the write speed was atrocious getting only real world 197GB of large files writ at around 200 MBs,read was ok at about 2819 read and 456 write using crystal disk mark. Incase your wondering the source and destination of those files was my internal ssd with read/write at 6828/4853'For support I was asked to use the intel driver checker and to use on a macbook which wasn't spectacular anyway and since I eschew Apple irrelevant. Got read/write at 2167/821 with an air M1. Drive did not even show on my touch bar macbook.I had also recently got some USB C 3.0 gen2 external SSD enclosures that delivered 700 MBs writes speed at a 1/3 of the price, certified by no one but the sellers I guess.So pretty poor experience overall as it seems these certifications mean jack. incidently I did manage to get a write of 450 MBs if the only thing plugged into the MSI summit thunderbolt 4 ports was this drive and power which of course hamstrung the laptop severely as one would expect. Too buggy it seems to mix theses heterogeneous parts, very narrow corridors of full operation.

Just what I needed to expand storage on my 2018 Apple Mini Mac. It is fast and copes well working of it in Photoshop.

I bought the 1TB version then the 2TB version a week later when I realized I'd need more space. I use this drive as my primary storage for Lightroom Classic (catalog on my Mac's (smaller) SSD) and it works excellently for that. It's fast enough that I can easily zip through LRc without any lag and it loads up images extremely fast. Both the 1TB and 2TB versions are excellent, the enclosure is solid while being very small / easily travel-able, the Thunderbolt 3 interface works at full TB3 speeds, and opening it up to swap for a bigger M.2 drive is easy (just unscrew the side panels and slide the thing out, no need to pry off the rubber on the bottom... not sure why someone would need to do that) if you want to upgrade in the future.FYI: Can take a minute or two for macOS to fully index the drive before showing up in Finder/DiskUtil when plugging it in for the first time. Format it over to APFS and you'll be on your way!

Dit is de max! Deze externe SSD is klein maar zeer snel. Super voor de opslag en het bewerken van video’s en foto’s. Ik had een externe HD van 4TB en deze SSD met dezelfde opslagcapaciteit is 4 à 5 x kleiner.

A única questão é que aquece bastante em uso moderado a intensivo, mas o dissipador faz o seu trabalho.
