Codling Moth Trap and Refill

Despite noticing many negative reviews that it does not work, I still wished to give it a try as there is simply no effective solutions to get rid of codling moths. But I should have heeded those negative reviews. The product simple does not work at all. It did not catch one single moth after 8 weeks!!! Complete waste of money.

Arrived as described. Set it up easily within my apple tree by tying it in with some string. It's a bit 'flimsy bottomed' and I suggest cutting a piece of timber to fix (glue it ?) the base to. Been checking it for a couple of weeks now (Mid-May to end of May) butnot really trapped anything yet but a few flies (the sticky bit IS really sticky). 'Fruit spray' my tree as well so hopefully will get 'bug free' apples this year ! Worth a try at this price .

I ordered a Codling Moth Trap and Refill, I was despatched a Codling Moth Trap and Refill, but only after putting the trap together did I realise that I had received a Plum Moth Trap with a Codling Moth Trap Refill. I had to plunder the refill for the appropriate pheromone.Obviously, it's in no state to return and exchange for the item I wanted and that would only cause an unacceptable delay anyway. The lesson I've learned is always to check that they've got it right immediately after opening the package, which, incidentally, was far too big for the items it contained.

I have yet to hang this up in the garden due to the recent adverse weather, but I have been using these traps for years with a good success rate. I didn't get round to putting one up last summer and the apples suffered accordingly. Another week or two and then out she goes! Little blighters beware!!
