We use our cooler bag for bringing the frozen and refrigerated foods back from the supermarket. It is brilliant for this as it holds such a lot. I don’t have any issues with the zip as others have mentioned. It is very well made and a substantial cooler bag.

Very functional, strong and good for the money. Has a divider inside and pouches for bottles etc to keep them secure. Even has a small freezer pouch to put in the freezer to help keep things cooler for longer. Folds flat and has velcro straps to hold it flat for storage. There is also a small door in the lid which allows you to reach in and pull things out without having to open the whole lid and let the heat in. A really good buy for the money.

Sturdy and great for keeping items cool. Not used it for long journey's yet but for the shorter ones (circa 1hr) this has been great and holds enough for family of 4.

I bought this because I have a Polar Gear lunch bag that it is extremely good at keeping the contents cold especially if you include a cold drinks can. This family-size bag is just as well made and sturdy. Folds down to about 3 inches thick and is held compressed with velcro tabs. However, I do agree with other reviewers on two points :-1) Zip is fiddly - before attempting to zip it up the first time, make sure you fold the inner, white insulation out of the way and the zips themselves into place. Apply a little light, appliance oil to the zip and it will zip/unzip easily. Could use furniture polish/WD40 applied with a tissue but may get residual odor - don't want to contaminate the contents! Perhaps rubbing a wax candle along the zip edge would also work but not tried that.2) The freezer 'block' consists of a strip of aluminised pouches. Fiddly to re-insert into it's net bag (attached to the inner rear of the cool bag alongside the bottle bags), frozen or not and may not be very robust. A standard size, hard plastic freezer block would be a better replacement, not sure if it would fit in the net bag though but that's not a real issue.

We got this to replace our previous Polar Gear bag when its zip broke. We had that one a long time and were very happy with it. This one is even better. Feels sturdy but not heavy. Love the compartments for ice blocks and the flap for easy access to an item is a genius idea. Go for it.
