A win, even if not perfect
My now 2 year old loves this. He was constantly asking us to sing various songs (Wheels on the bus) over and over again. So, now this can play him what he wants, when he wants (and yes, the same song over and over and over). The songs are varied and not especially annoying, with nice background music and singers of different ages (his 6 year old cousin even liked it). The sound also can go pretty quiet and has some directionality, so the kid can enjoy it while not bothering others too much. It uses voice prompts to tell you how to use it and has a nice recording feature, which I've used to add songs it doesn't have and include recordings from family members.Cons:- As other reviews mentioned, the Bluetooth button is poorly placed and is constantly getting pressed, but both that and the recording feature require more than one step so it doesn't cause problems- there are colored lights that flash around the dial when it is playing. If only I could turn those on and limit it to the relaxing music I could let him have it at night.- The recordings are limited to 3 min each, you can pick which number but you have to fill all the slots first. The microphone picks up on the air pops and isn't super loud, so I found it easier to record things on my phone and then hold the phones' speaker right over the mic hole.- What hand motion is for "the motor on the bus goes Zoom..."? Confusing choice of verses. So, lots to like. It is interesting to see which songs he chooses to play over and over again and add a few new ones to our repertoire.

Boombox is life
This is the number one toy in our household. We use it twice a day with our almost 4 and 1.5 year olds on walks (in the stroller). There are a ton of pre-set songs (40), which are pretty catchy and have become instant classics for us. For my older daughter, the bluetooth setting is the best because we can play stories or any type of music on it. Best of all, these things are indestructible. I think our youngest has thrown this on the ground hundreds of times now and I have no idea how it has still held up. We don't buy a ton of plastic toys, but the first one was a gift and we can't imagine our days without them!

Great gift for toddler!
I spent a long time looking for the updated version of the kids cassette player of my youth for our two year olds birthday and couldn’t stomach spending a zillion dollars on a “box” that I then would have to buy cartridges or stuffier for additional cash just to have them get lost or be a big mess. No, this is just right. You can record on the ten slots (and then your kiddo can when they are old enough to figure it out), plus my daughter loves to turn the dial and hear all the pre-recorded favorites. ABCs and All Stars are her favorite modes, and I like to play the relaxing songs for her baby sister sometimes. There is also active songs and the recorded slots for a total of 50 tracks (40 permanent and 10 recordable). Only one is annoying to me (number ten on active songs—“tick tock, tick tock, time is running on the clock…hurry hurry make it fun…” it gets faster and faster and the voice bugs me!)We recorded her address and my phone number on one of the slots and she plays it again and again to learn it. We’ve recorded us singing together, too. Recording is pretty easy, but also enough steps that she won’t record over everything herself until she’s a little older. It also has Bluetooth mode, so if you want to connect it to a playlist or stream from your phone, that works too. And there is an aux headphone port, so we may add a pair of headphones at some point.Overall, super well designed, very small and easy for toddler to carry. Lots of fun and not much $$!

So many musical options for a toddler!
My 3 year old grandson loves this musical toy. There are 40 songs, 10 per category. He likes the familiar children’s tunes the best, but the others are catchy, so I think he’ll like those as well in time. They are full songs, not little snippets like most other musical toys we have bought. His mom and brother recorded themselves singing children’s songs in the record mode. He loves hearing their voices. He also enjoys when I connect my phone to the toy using Bluetooth and play the playlists I made in iTunes for him. I set it on the lullaby playlist for his nap today, which he loved. He settled right in and was asleep in no time. The device plays loud enough, but not so loud to be annoying. The quality and volume control is perfect, in my opinion, for a child. It has a relaxing feel to the sound. All the options are user friendly for an adult. He’s catching on quickly to all but the Bluetooth and record modes, which is as it should be. I highly recommend this music box by Leap Frog.

Fantastic for a music loving toddler
My child is obsessed with music. He has been constantly asking us to play music on the record player and it has been leading to meltdowns because we can't do it all the time. He is only 15 months old so we needed something easy for him to use on his own. This thing is fantastic. There are soooooo many songs, and they are quality and full length. It is easy to use and the volume control actually works. He loves it and feels proud that he can do it on his own. I definitely see this growing with him as he learns his letters, numbers, animal sounds, etc. For now just having control over music is enough to make him happy. The Bluetooth is another bonus that is easy to use. I think the only thing I'd like to add to the product is the ability to turn off the lights that accompany the music. Also, the "tick tock" song is creepy lol. But honestly, this toy is great and I am happy with the product and the price.

Excelente

Kid absolutely loves it.
It's a really good size/shape for him to carry around all the time, not too heavy and the batteries last ages. Has survived a few drops and bashes. Very sturdy. The sound quality is really good, and it has a really impressive range of different music. The record functionality has been a big hit!We thought it might fade out of popularity quite quickly like most gadgets do but it's become a firm favourite for a year+ now.
