Just finished Sunstone and loved it! I've read the other (non-related) zombie books by RW Krpoun and really enjoyed them, but this one was far and away the best yet. Great ending too. While this one may not be directly related, the door is left open to tie this one to his more "modern" zombie stories.Great, and well written period piece that has enough action to keep. You engaged and enough plot to remain interesting. Great character development as well. Thanks for the great read... Well done!

Good Stand Alone novel from a favorite author
I like this author, having read The Phantom Badger series by him, and the SunStone is a very good stand alone book. The complex political situation between Mexico and the United States in the early 1900s is well dealt with without being beaten to death, and the incorporation of Aztec mythology and the Spanish treatment of the native Americans are integral to the plot. As always, the author's pacing is excellent, and the plot moves swiftly.

Another great book
Another excellent book by RW Krpoun. This is a very realistic story with excellent characters with beliefs and motivations which are both authentic and honest. As always the authors knowledge of weapons and period history is extensive. Yes there are "zombies" but that does not mean this is an outlandish fantasy. Excellent in every way I can not recommended it enough.

Krpoun is one to follow - can't wait for more!
Absolutely top-notch tale. Just reread Sunstone and wanted to leave an enthusiastic review for RW Krpoun's engaging story of Pinkerton men versus Necromancy in old Mexico. Do yourself a favor and buy any or all of this authors books, he is original, creative and a gifted storyteller. I've read every kindle book he has available and have never been disappointed.

Western Zombies!
Wonderful zombie tale set in 1912. Lots of guns and horses! Seth is a Pinkerton agent on the trail of an embezzler down in Mexico. Lots of social commentary which I hate, but only on the surface so I struggled through... Seth and his crew are hard men, They have fought in many different wars and they have the nightmares to prove it! Of course when they encounter their first zombie there is disbelief, but before long they roll with it! These hard men decide to save an orphanage of small children from the Zombies and their necromancer leader. Of course the deck is stacked against them, but one thing about these characters they have been staring death in the face so long they are not afraid to die! Loved it! The good people stand up to be counted in the end. The bad people are definitely evil, nothing ambiguous here. No cliffhanger, nice epilog to finish things off also... The only grumble I have is only one strong woman in the book. These men hang with women of ill repute in general and have no idea how to treat women or children. Probably true to the times.

Another excellent adventure
Fast paced action and great characters. This author keeps out doing himself. Dialogue also a strength. Heroic stands by believable people is another hallmark of this author. Real nice benefit is that this author is prolific.

Another good read
Krpoun is always fun to read, this one is fun with his usual millitary action, and for good measure, adds in a wild West theme, but wait there is more! On top of all that he adds Zombies to the mix. Good stuff as always.

A dam good read!
This is a great action adventure that weaves into the supernatural with the shadows of darkest elder evil behind the events that unfold in revolutionary Mexico in 1912.I really loved this book and I honestly think that it would translate into a great limited / one off mini series for Tv, produce by Amazon or Netflicks or who ever.
