Great starter set, and very giftable
Baking is something I get around to doing.I am okay with cakes, which is a new thing, because I don't like cakes unless they are very moist, and then I like to pour cream all over them.Short crust pastry is second nature. So it took me a little longer to getting around to wrestling this baker's starter pack out of the box for a proper review. And I'm kind of glad I did, because it is now excellent value. The initial price point worked out at a pound per item, at the current price of effectively £24 - it's now very good, and remains very giftable - as it is well presented. So you get the basics to have to go.The silicon based products are always useful, as is the nest of measuring cups. You could provided your recipe was measured - get away without scales, but I think these are an necessary extra. Then there's a silicon mat to roll out on and ease of cleaning, and a small rolling pin. That may suit a child - which is not a bad thing, personally I prefer something more solid. There's a range of shape cutters, which can be used for biscuits or scone mixes.Progressing onward there's silicon muffin / fairy cake moulds - and silicon is much better at releasing the cake over paper, and can be reused. (But giving them away - not so great if you don't get them back)There are scrapers/cutters and a single silicon glove, which is better than no oven glove at all, perhaps not as good as two though. And for the final flourish there's an icing bag with various nozzles. In conclusion for someone who already bakes - this will be doubling up on some if not all they things they already have, and so while not a redundant acquisition or gift, this is perhaps better as a gift for someone starting out, or starting afresh.

Piping tips are regular kind, not Russian piping nozzles
I thought this baking set was a little disappointing, both in terms of the quality of the included items, and in being somewhat misdescribed. The set of items is decent in terms of range, but on the whole the pieces are fairly thin and basic - not good enough to justify the original listing price of £36, especially when the set is not dishwasher safe. One thing I was quite disappointed in was the icing set. The product title features a claim that this set includes Russian piping tips, but this is not an accurate statement. The icing set is a very simple one with standard piping tips, not the larger-sized multi-layer Russian tips used for creating flower shapes. Very disappointing. While much of the set is silicone, the piping bag is a traditional fabric type - however it is quite a good one with a sealed side seam that doesn’t leak when used.

Good selection of equipment but seems expensive
This cake baking kit contains a good selection of equipment for beginners or experienced cake makers. Although the heading describes this as containing 36 pieces (which it does) a lot of those pieces are meauring cups (six), cutters (four) and cake cases (six). At £36, this does seem extremely expensive for what you get, at least to somebody who has no real experience of buying this type of equipment. Other pieces include a small rolling pin, a silicone mat, an icing bag and a whisk. The equipment is not suitable for dishwashers or microwaves.I think this is a good kit, but it is just too expensive for me to be able to give it any more than three stars - although it will be used a lot.

An excellent selection of tools
This is a most comprehensive set of cookie cutters, silicone brushes and spatulas, a very well designed set of measuring cups, icing bag and nozzles etc. basically pretty much everything you need for some home baking fun. My kids have appropriated the set and have been turning out a lovely selection of cookies, cakes and treats as a result. They love using all the pieces. Its excellent value, purchasing the various bits separately would set you back ten pounds extra or more. The quality of the manufacture is very good too

Really good quality set
This is a really good quality baking set, containing everything you can think of for the cake maker. In reality, anyone who bakes regularly will no doubt already own most of the items in here, but to the novice or amateur this would make a great gift or starter set, and even for the professional it’s sometimes nice to have a nice, clean fresh set.I think it’s great value for money - you’re basically paying £36 for 36 items so even I can book out that’s a pound per item, so it’s five stars from me.

Good collection of basic cooking tools.
You get a good range of basic tools, including a 12 piece icing set. You get various silicon spatulas and mould, plus a beech rolling pin and silicone whisk. The baking mat is non-slip, 17" x 12", and does rather smell of rubber - I hope this wears off!!. This is a good set to buy for someone who is starting out on their culinary journey, but experienced cooks will want to buy professional level tools which may be longer lasting and more bespoke for their needs.

Good for making cupcakes and cookies
I would say its a beginner set for making cookies and cup cakes rather than for big cakes. The silicone mat and the pin are good for rolling the cookie dough. The silicone mat, cupcake cases, brush and the spatula are good for using. The cookie cutters work well too. The piping bag and the nozzles are ok tooUsually measuring cups doesn't come in a cake bake set which is a plus. A decent cake decorating set.
