Nice and squishy. Lined the inside of a hard case. Great protection for my collection of elongated glass cylinders with rounded ends. When tactfully presented to the evening's playdate, the sparkle in their eyes makes it all worth it!

It sounded like from the description it would be easy to cut with scissors or a sharp knife. I tried using a very sharp knife with a new blade and all it did was tear. It would cut into the outer "skin" and then as you pulled the blade it would just shred it. Very disappointed as I wanted to cut it into shapes and that wasn't going to be possible with this product.

Using the 1/2" foam to add some padding to a fencing mask used in HEMA (btwn mask and leather mask overlay). Edit: Easy to work with, but concerned about durability. I used masking tape to hold in place while glue set and removing the tape pulled up a thin layer of the foam. Also be aware that none of the cuts - ends or sides - of the piece are straight, so if you need a square piece make sure it's big enough to allow some trimming to make square.

Making headbands.

Was replacing a pad on a boat and wanted closed cell. Amazon sent me the wrong thickness twice and finally got it right. It did the job.
