Exterior Redwood Fence Will Turn Black With Sun Exposure - Do Not Use
We are in the central valley of California. We applied this product to over 400 linear feet of prime redwood fencing. We used a small hand pump sprayer to apply a light coat across the entire fence. It goes on very easy.At first the fence looked beautiful: the redwood color was vibrant and very rich looking. Then, after a year of sun exposure, the fencing turned black. Suddenly, our beautiful yard was surrounded in varying shades of red wood and black wood.We pressure washed the discoloration and in some sections it worked to a minor degree, however, the fence soon returned to black. We are extremely disappointed in this product, sick about spending so much money on fencing, installation labor, stain and the time it took to apply the stain. There is no fix for this short of replacing the wood.

Saved my deck
I didn’t want a tone of color so this was just enough tint to make my deck look nice again plus I’m all set for winter now.
