Beautiful! This book is not only full of information about one of our best loved wild animals, it has a stunning display of photographs showing hares in all aspects of their lives from new born leverets to hares surveying the countryside from a convenient wall! It is worth buying for the photos alone.

Bought the book for an auntie who grew up in the Dales, loves nature and has a particular fondness for hares.She was utterly delighted and assures me the book is packed with fabulous photographs and interesting facts - she absolutely loves it!

If you have serious interest in wildlife, as I do, don't be fooled into thinking that this is just a coffee-table book. It is not. From it I've learned plenty about the brown hare and the problems that it faces in our times. I have also been very impressed by the author's skill with a camera, and as a hopeless but ever-optimistic photographer myself I would liked to know something about the equipment she uses, though that is not a complaint. I've never been to the Derbyshire Dales but they are now on my shortlist. A lovely book.

A Christmas gift for my wife. Beautiful pictures and interesting writing! My wife loved it. It would earn a 5th star if the book was hard-back, though
