Q: how Durable are these, would these hold up as side case in a crash?

They are durable for office use but would not be protective in a crash. They are made of medium weight plastic.

Yes, we are only producing this model in black.

Case is made of Polypropylene, the latches are ABS.

Q: What is the weight capacity?

I imagine it can hold whatever your realistically going to put it in it. it more depends on your method of mounting. I have two, mounted as "saddle bags" on my Bike. I matched with the brackets and drilled holes. ran bolts with washers through and have had no problems. I've packed one with bike cover, jacket gloves etc, and the other with a quart each of oil, coolant, brake fluid, small tool box etc. I've stuffed probably 20 LBS worth of stuff in em. theyre thick and solid so I'm sure they could handle more. like I said, depends on how you mount. the latches can supposedly handle 30 Lbs. hope that helped.
