I bought the 7.8 Ah BatPower Electric Fishing Reel battery for my Daiwa Tanacom 1000 and used it on a four day deep drop fishing trip out of Stock Island, FL (island before Key West) in Feb 2022. I have fished these trips for years and have always lugged a deep cycle 12 V marine battery. I am not getting any younger so I thought I would try this out to save the weight, and my back. What a GREAT battery! We deep dropped for approximately 13 hours the first day and this battery lasted for 11 hours. I was able to recharge the battery in about 2 hours and used it again the second day for about the same length of time. I filled a 100-quart cooler with fish on this trip and had plenty of power. Yes, this is more expensive than a 12V marine battery but at just under one (1) pound it is well work the money. The battery is easy to use and it even has a USB slot on the back to charge your phone.

I’m very satisfied. I’ve paired the Bat Power with a Tanacom 500 and recently took the duo out sturgeon fishing on the Columbia to get a feel for the capacity of the Bat Power and to familiarize myself with the Tanacom 500. Speaking to the Bat Power, after a full day of a rookie electric reel user working the reel yarding numerous sturgeon the battery was only down a quarter capacity. I was impressed. I’ve been fishing sturgeon, salmon and steelhead on the Columbia for ever and was truly impressed with the ease of operation and convenience and quickness to recharge the battery.The following week I took the combination to Port Hardy , Vancouver Island, British Columbia as part of an annual week long fishing trip that includes serious bottom fishing. Once again the battery reel combination operated impeccably especially in the deeper water fishing for large halibut and huge ling cod. I had power to spare at the end of the day and recharging was a breeze. This battery’s performance under heavy pressure was amazing and made me, my fishing buddy’s and our guide , believer’s.

I bought for my husband, he has a Daiwa Seaborg 500JP electric reel and need a battery for it. He loves this battery so much and told me this product is very well designed. It can support two electric reels at the same time and even has a QC 3.0 fast charge USB port on it , so you can use it as a power bank for your cellphone or other devices. The best part he loves is that you can attach the battery direct to the reel and it won't fall off, such a convienient and smart design!He will test it on his upcoming fishing trip for the battery life and we will post an update later on.He just came back from a sandab trip yesterday and said the battery lasted about 6 hours of heavy use which is very impressive.

Perfect for elec reels. Push in connector to reel HARD. Comes with carrying strap (I don't use, put battery in my pocket), charger and alligator clip cable, which I think is unnecessary. Great indicator for remaining charge. I use a 14 amp hour deep discharge lead acid battery for stationary use and this for when I have to move (big fish). Pretty easy to switch cables. Great manufacturer support!

After a fishing trip, I had this in my car and it started smelling really bad, like battery acid. Then I checked the battery and it was BURNING. I took it out my bag and dropped it on the floor and it sparked and started smoking. WE HAD TO PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF A HIGHWAY TO THROW THIS JUNK OUT MY CAR! Then it started popping like firecracker and burst into flames. There is definitely some battery design flaw in the inside of this battery. Battery capacity on this is the largest for it's size but I can't recommend anyone buying this cause IT'S A STRAIGHT UP BOMB.
