Great option for bucket feeding!
I bought these for my chickens, and they took to eating from them right away. I love that they're "spill free" but will say, a determined chicken will have feed on the ground. My Blue Copper Maran digs in any feed dish we've tried, and this is no exception. It does keep their area much cleaner, and I really like that I can close them off when the chickens get locked up for the night to keep raccoons out of their food.

With over 100 chickens this was the best investment
The media could not be loaded. I love how much more clean and less wasteful it is feeding my chickens. Best investment ever. Easy to install. I used a hole saw and a new tub.

Super easy to install, chickens love it
Perfect for our 16 chicken coop. Before we were having to refill feeders every single day, now with a large trash can we can put up to 150 pounds of feed out and only have to fill it once a month or so. Chickens have no problems getting food out of the holes and seemed to acclimate to it within a few minutes.

Product made well, but far from a no waste feeder!
I thought these were a great idea, but my ISA Brown hens who were started on layer feed at 18 wks (mixed layer with grower 50/50, wks 18 to 20) throw feed out of the cups all over the ground. They loved their grower but not crazy about the layer so picked it out, apparently, and tossed it. They don't eat with their heads inside, all the way, like the pkg shows, they eat at the edge which allows for waste. I feed Organic, no corn no soy, and it's too expensive to waste! I have to pull that feeder after they've all had their fill and then they have only their conventional round galv feeder until evening, and hopefully eat what's on the ground before it gets rained on. We live on an island which happens to get more rainfall than anywhere on Earth. Food on the ground can be rained on anytime of the day and then inedible. I have adjusted the height of the bucket and btw, the cups were placed exactly as instructed. Not sure if there is anything else I can do. Have tried placing a tray underneath, but only fills with water when the quick rainshower comes. Any ideas welcome especially from the seller.

This is awesome!
Super worth getting. Easy to set up with whatever size bucket you want. No issues for the chickens to eat.

Perfect for our chickens!
The media could not be loaded. Love that this product comes with perfectly sized hole cutter and everything you need. Took about 5 minutes to convert a generic 5 gallon bucket to a feeder. Chickens started using it instantly. Happy customers. 🐓

Works well to feed my chickens, but also the birds in our neighborhood.
I had been using a feed trough by another vendor that worked really well for our hens. But, increasingly, the birds were getting to the feed. I liked the idea of this item. It was easy to set up with the included hole saw drill bit. I used a plastic tote and filled it with a 50lb back of layer pellets. With the port covers, I was pretty stoked that I wouldn't have to put feed out every day. Just pull the port covers off in the morning and put them back in the evening to keep the rodents out.Well the birds quickly figure out this feeder system as well. At first, they congregated below each feeder portal to clean up whatever food the chickens scraped out of portal and dropped to the floor. It was also surprising just how much feed got scraped out by the chickens, so I'd hardly call this a no waste solution. It didn't take long for the birds to figure out how to get into each of the portals to access an all-you-can-eat buffet. The portal acts just like the opening in a bird house - there was nothing stopping the birds from turning the feeder into a big, bird house fully stocked with food. Which brings me to another flaw in the system. When the tote was full, you'd see a wall of food inside of the portal. But, when the feed level ran down enough, birds could easily fly up into the portal and then walk into the container unimpeded. With a flat floor, the feed in the middle of the container stayed piled pretty high and less of it started filling the feed tubes. I had to open the top of the container and push the feed from the middle of the container towards the feed tubes, as gravity had done its job as far as it could. The solution to that would be a conical bottom like what you see in the CoopWorx feeders. I had planned to buy the CoopWorx feeder, but thought I'd experiment with this product first. I'm glad I chose that path, as the CoopWorx would also have the same problems with birds. I wanted to like this product. Unfortunately it didn't solve my primary concern, which was to keep the birds out of our feeder.

Pairs perfectly with a 5 gallon bucket
I'm new to raising chickens and have 8 black australorps who are now 2 1/2 months old. Sadly, I had a 2 week vacation I had to take and had a neighborhood kid come check on my chicks every day. I installed 4 of the 8 that came on a 5 gallon bucket and put the bucket on a cinder block. I was concerned about some of the chickens being too small to reach the feeders, so on two of the sides, I put wood blocks. They worked PERFECTLY!One big thing I didn't consider was how would they perform in the rain. We've been inundated this year with rain, but even after the biggest rains, I'd go out, open the bucket and it was bone dry inside, so you can leave it out in an uncovered run. So far, they also don't seem to spill a whole lot, so that's good in terms of not wasting your money and not attracting vermon. My coop and run have hardware cloth everywhere to guard against predators, by why attract them in the first place? I was very worried about my new chicks adapting, but they had zero issues figuring it out.
