Just doesn’t hold up
Latches break easily. To difficult to open and close.

Works for my dogs
This gate works! Don’t get me wrong. The reason this isn’t getting 5 stars is that this thing is spring loaded. Like REALLY spring loaded. I had to use two hands and a foot to get it to latch. Oh, and if you don’t quite get it latches it will snap back into the spool so fast and violently it’ll shock you! It never hurt us. It did test my heart rhythm a few times. And keep my dog from walking within a hallway of the door we had it installed on for a few days. So I guess that part was effective at keeping the dogs out! Lol But, as long as you’re careful, make sure it is completely latched, this gate should work. It is a bit of a pain to install. You WILL be screwing into your woodwork. I DO NOT recommend installing this into anything but actual wood! Plaster is most definitely a no no. It will remove itself from its mounting with all the pressure exuded on the screws when the gate is closed.

Quick fix but not durable
I thought this was great after first purchasing it, but realized it is not very durable. It has fallen apart at the top and at the bottom, it's hanging on by a thread somewhere in the middle. I wouldn't suggest using this for dogs or kids.

Don’t Buy
Bought this for my two cocker spaniels, and it does not keep them in. They are 25lbs and can go right underneath because the tension is not strong enough and the gate is flimsy. They do not even have to push hard to get through it. I also drilled holes in my wall for installation that I will have to repair because the gate will be taken down. Not impressed at all.

Great for large Breed Dogs
My cats can get under this easily but my 2 Rottweilers can’t get past. I would not suggest for small dogs or cats. Also it is very forgiving to install and can be put at a weird angle with not issues. The tension is tight and sometimes I struggle to pull it across. I would buy again.
