Big families don't always get along and are not close, but some are really close knit and up in everyone's business out of love. Ryker does not have that close knit family like Brie has. Then his brothers show up at the hospital after Brie had called his stepdad. Now things have changed. Ryker is quite a few years older than Brie but she didn't know what he did for a living for a while after they started dating and he didn't know who her dad was. But with hen his case at work breaks open and she is caught in the cross fire before he knows what is happening. Can he get to her before something serious happens? How does her family react to a hem dating? This is an awesome "dating the bosses daughter" book.

Ryker and Brie
I loved this one! Ryker is the leader of JDET. Brie has a very successful restaurant. The two met at a gym when Ryker was on leave pending an IA investigation brought on by a supervisor that has it out for Ryker. They fell hard before they found out who the other was. Ryker is the boss of one of her brothers. Plus he’s 14 years older than she is. The two have kept their relationship secret until Ryker is shot at home in a drive by and Brie rushes into the hospital worried. She ends up telling off his supervisor and her brother and the secret is out of the bag. The JDET is trying to take down the drug kingpin they’ve been chasing and Brie is being shaken down by a councilman to get an idea of getting the excess food from restaurants to shelters on the agenda for their meetings. She’s also being harassed for protection money by two thugs. This book has a lot of things going on and is very suspenseful. There is lots of friends and family, lots of steam and love.

A family affair
Ryker has been in several stories as the Captain of an elite force who also oversees Brody, works for Commissioner King and is higher ranking than Brock. Brie, the woman he loves, is their daughter/sister..and oh yeah, 14 years younger. Take that dynamic and add in some fast paced and violent filled actions while solving a major drug case and intimidation from politics and that is how this book is a page turner and great read! This is a fun series where family always plays a role. Brie and Ryker are no different. Brie had the large involved families of King and McBride and Ryker had a large family we meet who has a more conflicted background. All the women and men are strong and well developed. There is some foreshadowing in the final scene and epilogue to where I can’t wait for the next book!

Ryker and Brie
Wonderful story of the DJET task force that brings crime to its knees in Hope City. Ryker is the Captain for JDET. He’s older than most of the men and women that work under him. He’s relentless in his pursuit of justice. He doesn’t break the law. Another member of the police hierarchy of Hope City has it in for Ryker. He’s jealous of Rykers JDET teams success and he has worked on discrediting Ryker at every turn. His previous attempt to bring Ryker down got him suspended from his job pending an investigation.Needless to say, the time off sent Ryker to the gym to work off excess energy. It was there that he met and fell in love with Brie. The problem with his relationship has many hurdles and snags but the two of them are willing to brave them together for love. The biggest problem is his age. She’s much younger than he is. The next biggest problem, might actually be the worse! She’s the daughter of The Police commissioner and her brothers work under Ryker. Now, the criminal element is preying on Brie. Demanding payments for safety. The city commissioner that is blocking her and several other restaurants from donating their excess food to the homeless hits snag after snag. Problems continue to plague her and now Rykers reinstated position puts him in extreme danger. With all the difficulties Brie and Ryker are running into, will they be able to stay together and be safe? The ride was a blast and the smooth, yet exciting way it came to an end was well worth the time that I invested in the book! 5 stars and more!

PERFECT BOOK!!!! 😍
What a fabulous book this was! It was very fast moving.... Filled with thrilling twists and turns.... Suspense and drama that keeps you on your toes and turning those pages quickly!!! I really enjoyed the cases within cases so you were kept following different threads that came together in a cleverly written finale! All the clues and strings were weaved together so well that I was riveted throughout! The love story between Brianna and Ryker was Oh La La!!!! Sexy, romantic and very satisfying. I had forgotten how exciting, sweet, and heartwarming Kris Michaels writes her characters' relationships! Her descriptions of her characters are vivid and so real that I can easily picture each character which really enhances the reading experience! As usual I really enjoyed having all the other people from the other series' books make appearances. I love both families.... Thank you Kris for the epilogue.... Big Thanks for taking us through to the end of the book with a perfect extended ending with Ryker and Brianna.... Many authors take you only so far and then abruptly end the story and the reader is left hanging and unsatisfied. I highly recommend this book and the entire series ( which I now have to go and reread 😄 ).... You won't regret it... It is truly a perfect book!😇

Loved it.
What could go wrong when Brock and Brady discover their sister is dating their Captain? But don’t think it is the comedy that makes this book. There’s a hard hitting story that absolutely rocks.

AwesomeR!!!!!
I couldn't put this book down. I started reading it early evening and finished around 1am. I love how normal this series is, the Guardians and other series have so much advantage with unlimited resources but the Hope City world is so down to earth and very relatable. There were times I wished they would have those resources (lol) but Kris Michaels showed us that even "regular people" have their own exciting stories. Loved it!!!! My favourite to date of the series. ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY

In the family
An excellent book. I though Ryjer stood out in book 3. I actually though he out shone the main character of that book. I was glad he had his own story, and really glad it lived up to its potential.Ad much ad I like the Guardian book, the characters seem to have unlimited resources, where as the Hope City characters seem slightly more real by comparison. Though I always like the formulae of main characters of the other books on the series returning as great supporting characters in the current books.I did like Brie as well. She was a good character that is good hearted, but tough when pushed. She is hard working, but a bit naive (to the point where she is the only person who does not realise everyone of her cousins is billionaire). The great the about Ryker and Brie tekationship is that they can call each other on things like that and have fun with it.A great action packed end to the story and open up a new set of characters in Hope City. Book 8 looks already to be taking that direction. I do hope that a couple more loose end from this book are also tied up. Knowing Kris Michael's work I am sure they will be.

Such love between the two main characters
This is by far my favourite story. The connection and love the two main characters had felt so real. You just felt the respect and love they had and the story was great and kept you interested.I liked how Kris connected the Kings together, it was interesting they were all related and how.Cannot wait to read more of Hope City.
