A Cappella Pop: A Complete Guide to Contemporary A Cappella Singing

I am a high school choral director and I plan to start an a cappella group on my campus in the fall. I am classically trained (as most of us are) and have very limited experience with directing this style of music. I recognize the benefit of including a cappella on my campus, so I plan to dive in. I needed a step-by-step guide in order to get started.I love that this book includes everything from the audition process through running rehearsals for your group. I anticipate keeping this book nearby as I get my group off the ground over the next few months and into the next school year. This was money well-spent, and I'd recommend it to other directors who are looking to establish A Cappella on their campus.

Book condition is fair and the content seems just okay with a glance.

This is a wonderful intro to teaching this style of music. It isn't the only thing you'll ever need, but it introduces every concept I wondered about and presented me with concepts I hadn't considered. It has prepared me to feel more confident in teaching Contemporary AC.It is also very bite-size, so it's an easy read and it's easy to apply concepts quickly. I've also given it to my top students, to help them be better leaders in my pop group.

Ok , if you want a history lesson...only one, maybe two chapters of practical use...
