Very useful purchase
This is one of those purchases where I was looking at the price for a long time and debating whether it was worth it. Let's face it.... It expensive, even on sale. That being said, compared to my much cheaper, entry level shredder also from Fellowes, this product is on a completely different level where I can understand some of the cost difference. My smaller shredder would jam with more than two sheets of paper in it. A staple would stop it shredding the rest of the sheet and it would need unblocking every half hour or so.This one I shredded about 6 months worth of junk in at least 1/4 of the time of the smaller one with zero jamming at all. I even put stuff in it that I was sure was going to jam and it didn't stop.... Honestly its pretty scary how effective it is. I put cardboard in the thing and it went through. I put plastic cards into it with no issue. I even put through entire envelopes with the rubbish from TV licencing inside, still sealed and it didn't even flinch. The bin also holds a fair amount. I had to empty it twice for 6 months worth of collected junk (around 60-80 letters and flyers). The deposited paper is small strips, extremely safe and almost impossible to rebuild. Definitely safe enough for confidential office use. Noise wise, it's about the same as every other shredder you have likely heard. It's not quiet but you can hear yourself talk over it but if you are using a phone nearby it's definitely heard on the other end.Obviously this price point means it's still a 'nice to have' product but I can honestly say there's nothing more I would ask for from this product.

Not what it states it can do
I bought this product as an upgrade for my rexel 7 sheet shredder which I purchased 5 years ago on Amazon but this is no better and now I've sold my old shredder need to return as only pensioners and we were scammed 3 times last year so security a priority.

Trusted brand, perfect for home office, also shreds staples & credit cards
The media could not be loaded. Fellowes is a brand I trust and have favoured for years in my home office, so I had no hesitation in agreeing to review this latest cross-shredder. My existing model is the M-BC which is not as sleek, the bin has less capacity and only shreds a maximum of 8 sheets, whereas this one does 11.The bin is easy to empty, the head just lifts off. It has a clear window down its whole length, so it is easy to see how full it is getting. After testing, I can confirm that it can cope with 11 sheets at a time. please see short video.Note, that it will shred non-stop for up to 5 minutes before requiring a 30-minute cooldown. If it overheats there is an indicator on the top which lights up and stays on until it has cooled down. Its shred security rating is P4, 390 particles which is at the high end of cross-shredding, mini cut is the next level up.What I really like is not having to fiddle around removing staples. It can also reassuringly chew up credit cards that need disposing of.I always oil my shredders every time the bin is emptied to keep them running smoothly.Although I have only had this model for under a month, I am confident from previous experience that it will be very durable. Further reassurance is given in the form of a 2-year machine warranty and a 3-year cutter warranty. One disappointment was that when I unpacked it the 3-pin plug was broken and crushed, see pic, this would have been done in the manufacturing packaging stage, not due to delivery. If I had purchased it, it would have annoyingly been returned for a replacement. As it was free for review, I chose to just replace the plug myself. One star has been deducted purely due to this problem.

A good shredder for home or office use, but on the expensive side.
After 2 years I'm still working from home three days a week thanks to COVID, so I've turned a spare room into an office away from the office. Having a shredder close by is handy, not only for work, but letters and other personal documents too.The shredder is capable of handling 11 sheets of paper at once, which is more than I'll need it for but nice to know I can add more if needed. It also has an 18 litre bin capacity, which is good to know I won't have to constantly be emptying it. There's also a safety lock to prevent accidental activation which could come in handy. It's also good to know I can shred constantly for 5 minutes straight before it needs to cool down. Again, this is more than I need but good to know it has the capability should I ever need it.All in all it's a really good shredder for home or office use with more capacity than I'll ever need, but a bit on the expensive side at £89.99, which was the price at time of writing.I hope you found this review helpful.

Powerful shredder
This is a great machine, powerful and big capacity.Chewing through staples and paperclips.Ideal for home office for those old documents or confidential materials.I can live with the 5 mins continuous use - cool down for next 30 min, as the current one one does 3 mins. The capacity is pretty big at 300 sheets. This also been good for producing some bedding for my little hamster. It's a pity that no CD shredding functions, as we still have plenty of old rewriteable CDs.It is about 5kg, but would be nice to have a small wheel to move around or wheel away for storage.Price wise pretty reasonable at £78 at time of reviewing, matching the high street.
