Easy to install, very powerful installed to run with the Cyberpower 1500 battery backup system
I purchased this pump to use as a backup, but it has more than enough power to be the primary pump for my groundwater basement system. This unit is lighter, so I installed it higher than the primary pump. Honestly I think it works as good or better than my primary pump. Not sure how it would do being submersed under water for long periods of time or if it rusts. I have it up higher in my basin so it probably wont be wet much. I used the cyberpower CP 1500 120 watt system as the battery backup in the event of a power outage or a primary pump failure. I tested it today and it worked great. The battery backup can run up to 8 amps 1/3 horsepower pump and I ran it through about 4-5 cycles and it barely used any juice from the battery to move the water out. I figure I will get at least 3-4 hours of time since the pump only kicks on every so often in a rainstorm. So far the entire system works great. I choose this pump to run off the battery because it only draws about 4 amps, but is very powerful... I have at least an 8-10 foot lift to get it up out of the basement and it moved the water with no issues in a matter of seconds with the hose spraying water into the basin at the same time. I installed a new pipe down into this sump and used the Superior Pump 99555 Universal Check Valve that was only 6.99 and it worked great.I will update over time if there are any issues but I think this system is going to work great. I highly recommend this pump with the cyberpower 1500 so far... as said over time if there are issues I will update, but hopefully it works out good. The test looked great.

READ IF AFTER WHILE THE PUMPWONT PUMP AND JUST HUMS
got a 1/3hp with the vertical switch. it ended up at some point during a recent really heavy storm tripped the gfci I had it on. It wasnt pumping, so i plugged just the pump in and it just hummed. I tapped the impeller with a pencil and it spun fine. took it apart and found the capacitor had melted.called superior and spoke with a live friendly person in less and 30 seconds. ordered 2 capacitors for 15 $ shipped. The capacitor is held down by a screw and has 2 blade connectors that attach to it.take it apart with impeller side up as there is oil inside of the unit. the unit is sealed with w/ 2 o rings at the base of the pump, so be careful prying

Perfect replacement for Myers sump pump
I originally bought the superior pump and bucket to replace a myers sump pump for laundry room washer and sink. You can just use this pump and put it in the myers bucket. You will need to cut off the outflow pipe inside the bucket. about an inch (don't worry about rubber casket it is not necessary) In second picture you can see what I cut off. You should be able to detach bucket from pipes where the connecting sleaves are and the check valve. (See first picture.) Then unscrew the screws around the lid to remove top. Clean the bucket, put the new pump in. Unscrew outfliw pipe from old pump, Outflow pipe will be about in inch to long.(Can cut it with a hack saw) put it on new pump then line up the lid, screw it back on then put it all back and voilà.
