Nothing was wrong with the product it just wouldn't fit my box.

Wired in my portable generator to the panel. Wanted everything to be safe and easy, especially if I wasn't home to turn it on. Interlock works great, main has to be turned off before generator can be turned on. Just what I wanted. Easy to install.

The concept is good, but I'm not sure they actually made measurements of the Siemens panel. The tab to lockout the main breaker is above the breaker always and not locking it out in any position. This enables the generator breaker to be on at the same time as the main breaker. In the photo, I show the test fit before drilling holes. You can see the main breaker is on, AND the generator breaker can be turned on also. There's too much space beside the red warning label; the interlock tab for the main breaker should be about 3/8" lower.There is also no room on the left side to completely move the interlock left. They did not take into consideration that the interlock needs to be narrower. Good general idea, but very poor execution. It could have worked, but it doesn't.The info that came with the kit said to contact them immediately if there are any problems. I did, and they haven't responded. I agree with a previous reviewer; they should put all the dimensions on the drawings AND include a photo of the interlock actually installed ON a panel instead of just showing a drawing. The drawing does not accurately depict reality. I'm returning this kit to Amazon.

It works! It’s solid and will probably outlast the house.

Great product that makes me feel much safer when the generator has to be connected to my board.
