The Essential Rory Gallagher

Not sure how a Rory "essential" acoustic songbook can be missing "Out on the Western Plain", but I'll take what I can get. Opened my eyes (and ears) to the open tunings Rory used and also makes realize I'll never play like Rory. If you're a Rory fan and a guitar player this is a must have.

These are not easy pieces to master by any means, and shows Rory's great understanding of traditional Delta blues as well as some classics. I love it and am challenged.

I got this book primarily for the transcription of " Out of my Mind". I was very disappointed to find wrong notes and wrong playing positions. In addition Rory is doing a lot more complex hybrid Travis picking than is shown. This looks like a transcription done mostly by a computer which obviously cannot play guitar. I'll have better luck trying to play this song by watching Davy Knowles rendition on YouTube.
