Pleasantly Surprised
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I have become somewhat of a cooking knife addict. I have purchased several really nice, high end knives the past 2 years but I have not purchased any new steak knives until now. I almost didn't purchase these knives due to them being relatively inexpensive. I read all the reviews and I thought I would take a chance on them. Upon arrival I thought the packaging was not very appealing and that maybe I had made a bad decision. My first impressions upon taking these knives out of the box was how large and solid they feel. I assumed the sharpness would just be average for this price point but this is where I was most impressed! Right out of the box the knives were very sharp and would cut paper with ease. The handle is very well done and the finish on the blade is smooth and no imperfections on my set. You absolutely cannot go wrong with this set and I will most likely purchase another set because everyone in the family wants to use this knife when we cook steaks!

Quality Steak Knvies
I dont usually write very many reviews on Amazon, but I thought that these knives should get a bit more recognition. They are sharp out of the box, good looking, have minimal logos/markings, not serrated (which I love), have a full tang, and durable.Although they are a bit more expensive than the more popular Amazon steak knives, these are well worth the price for the excellent quality you receive.I would definitely recommend these as I have been using them for a while now, and they have stayed very sharp and haven't had any issues.

My favorite steak knives!
Photos attached is the skylight on the right and another steak knife I have on the left. These are larger than most standard steak knives I’ve owned. I would say this is closer in size to the kind you get at a quality steak house.By far these did not disappoint. They are razor sharp and cut through the most tender of steaks without destroying it. I’ve used it against and with the grain and never had an issue at all. They also have a good weight on them and feel solid!

I will never get serrated steak knives again.
I will never get serrated steak knives again. These are the right length and weight. The black synthetic handles feel like a set that would be in a knife block. Since these are honed edge knives, you have to treat them as such. You must hand wash these. Don’t ever put any honed edge knife in a dishwasher. Yes, eventually from time to time you will have to sharpen these, as with any straight edge knife.

Bye Bye Serrated knives !
I have a set of Serrrated steak knives that was a gift. They were fine for a few months but dulled after a while. Yes, I put them in the dishwasher, yes that's a stupid idea and I have reformed my stupid ways. I tried everything to sharpen the serrated knives. I bought two sharpeners that supposedly sharpen them and even two special serrated knife rounded files to sharpen in the grooves. All my efforts only made for minor improvements after all of that. Mostly I wasn't cutting my meat, but tearing it or slowly sawing through it like a piece of wood. These new knives are insanely sharp! Steak cuts like warm butter ! Fine German steel, economically manufactured in China and the result is truly affordable knives at a reasonable cost ! AND the best part is non-serrated knives can be resharpened easily. Don't put these in the dishwasher ! They ARE dishwasher safe but you will keep your sharp edge much longer if you hand wash them. It takes a minute to wash a knife or two by hand. No big deal.

blade chipped after one use
Not really thrilled with these knives as far as keeping a clean edge. I used one knife one time and there is a chip out of the blade. I have done my best to hone the blade back to a clean sharp edge but to no avail. the chip just keeps getting deeper. I ordered two sets of these knives because they look heavy duty and for the most part are. do not put these in the dishwasher. it will get rust spots. I would send these back but it seems like a pain in the butt to send a whole set back for just one defective knife. I will update in the future as to longevity.

Good for the price, but read on...
There are some products where price is definitely a reliable indicator of quality. Knives are in that category. If you're expecting any kitchen knife, other than a paring knife, to be really good for, say, less than $35, good luck. Great knives are not inexpensive in the US, but they will last for generations, if you take good care of them.I bought one set of these knives to replace some Henckel serrated blades I'd had for more than 30 years. They were worn out. These knives impress with their design and construction, and for around $50, they are a fair deal. The fit between the metal and the handle is quite good indeed. I encountered just a single teeny-tiny mismatch at the back corner of one side of one handle, but otherwise, everything else was perfect.I thought that, at the price, something else would bear that out, and I was right, at least with the knives sent to me. The sharp edges don't hold the edge very long. They're still sharp, but not quite as much as when brand new, and mine are maybe four months old. A great knife will hold that edge for at least a year with average use. I did buy a second set for entertainment, and a very attractive block to hold them, and they will suffice for cooked meals, but don't expect more than that. I highly recommend a sharpening steel to hone the edges and keep them as sharp as can be. (There are few things more dangerous than a dull knife.)I tested one of them by piecing out a whole chicken fryer, and that's where the shortcoming came into play. The edge handled the meat OK, but it struggled with the raw skin, and that's one of the surefire tests for a really good knife. The skin tends to have a slightly rubbery consistency; great knives handle it well, other knives--not so much. So, yeah, for company over for dinner, they look great on the table, and they hold very well in the hand, though maybe a tad large for small hands. They'll do a good job on cooked meat, but you'll notice them slow down a tad in a few months. Oh, and the upward curve towards the tip is a great touch that does come in handy.
