Purchased these exterior smart shades for the large front windows of our Sierra Mountain home. With a southern facing exposure, the morning sun shines directly into the windows on the left side of our living room and as the day goes by, the afternoon sun shines in the right side living room windows. I was concerned that the UV rays of the sun would damage our flooring and furniture. After reading about these shades, I decided to give them a try and WOW, I'm so glad I did!. We ordered the black color knowing this would allow us to see the beautiful vistas clearly through the shades when they were down. The shades are extremely well made and work beautifully. You can program them to automatically roll down and up at specific times which is totally awesome. We have been using ours daily for the past 3 months without so much as a hick-up. They filter the light beautifully and roll up and down smoothly. I love how the remote allows you to give the shades a little "bump" to completely tighten them when they are down, creating a flawlessly smooth, tight surface. Couldn't be happier with the purchase. They were shipped from China (I was a bit skeptical about what the quality would be like in the beginning) and they arrived swiftly, it only took 5 days and they were at our door! Easy enough for my husband to install (he's a General Contractor) and they look neat and clean on the outside. As I mentioned previously, they are really well made, really nice quality and work like a charm! We have the solar panels on the top to keep them charged and you can easily see the little blue light on the side of the housing, letting you know that all is well. They do come with a USB cord to charge if need be, but so far the solar panel has kept them fully charged. Don't hesitate to give these a try, you won't be disappointed!

This is one of the few solar shade vendors that I found that offers to custom size their product.We bought two ceiling mounted solar shades for our outside patio to block the afternoon sun. We received both shades earlier than we expected and they were very well packaged - no worries about there being any possible damage in transit. All of the parts were included and in individual ziplock bags making it easy to identify the next part needed during installation.The installation was very straight-forward and easy. We got both shades to work either together as a single operation or independently operated using a single remote control (channel 00 operates both together, channel 1 operates one shade, channel 2 operates the other, etc.). We purchased a solar panel for each shade so we wouldn’t have to use the supplied USB cable and they, too, were very easy to install and seem to be working just fine to keep the motor battery charged even though one faces north while the other faces west.I sent the seller an email as the remote control, after initially activating the battery, wouldn’t operate either shade. Received a response within 24 hours with the diagnosis that the remote happened to be set to channel 13 and instructions that got me back on track.It’s a good thing they just ask whether or not you intend to install the guide cables but include them anyway. Initially we thought we wouldn’t install them as we probably wouldn’t be using the shades on windy days. However, we found out that when the shades are down, even a gentle breeze tends to blow the fabric around. We thought it would be just our luck that as soon as we weren’t paying attention, a wind gust would blow and possibly damage the shades. So we installed the guide wires.We’re very happy with our purchase and highly recommend Graywind shades. We’re contemplating ordering another shade to complete the ensemble, even though we probably wouldn’t use it much on that side of the patio.

Ordered 2 ceiling mounted 84inch blinds for outside patio to block afternoon sun. Both blinds were received earlier than expected and well packaged. Very easy to install, got both to work together with a single remote and Alexa integration process was well documented and straightforward. Did not purchase solar panel, instead used supplied usb cables with personal 5volt 2.1amp charger for each (old iphone chargers).The 3% Opacity/sun blockage was just right for us, no more squinting on the deck in the afternoon:)I sent the seller 2 questions, both responses received within 24 hours. First was related to the phone app referenced in the installation manual which I could not get to work. It seems the phone app requires a "Graywind Hub" that needs to be purchased separately. The purchased single remote and Alexa was sufficient control so will not be purchasing.I did have an issue with disabling the remote on 1 blind while trying to get the blind to pair with phone app. 2nd email to Graywind resolved this issue quickly. There is a non-documented procedure to pair blind with remote that worked. Below is what worked for us, apparently this is motor specific so if it happens to you and procedure below does not work then email Graywind (they need your Amazon order number to send correct procedure)From Graywind to re-pair remote with blind"1.Reset the motor: Press and hold the reset button on the side of the motor until the motor jogs four times.2.Connect the motor with the remote: (1) Press and hold the reset button on the motor until the motor jogs once. (2) Choose a channel. (3) Press the P button on the back side of the remote and the motor will jog twice."When placing the order expect an email via Amazon from seller within a day confirming dimensions before completing order. NOTE - this is the only opportunity to change side of blind usb plugs into (motor side) as default is right side and this configuration option is not available when placing initial order online.After pricing locally and with other vendors ended up spending less than half the price on essentially the same blind. Overall happy with purchase, had a couple of issues post install that were quickly resolved by the vendor hence the 5 star rating.
