Yes its safe if used properly. I've had mine for a year. Cutting anything from sheet metal to 1/8 inch. Haven't tried on bigger stuff. Read the instructions, very specific about not over heating the blade. Awesome tool. You'll love it.

Should. Depends on your arbor size. Don't spend your money on this disc, is not that great. Try these "Cutting Wheel 50 PCS Cut Off Wheel 4.5"x.040"x7/8" Cutting Disc Ultra Thin Metal & Stainless Steel SATC." $20 for 50 disc. These cut like magic. I used them to cut 7/16 steel plate. They really last. The $20 diamond blade wore out in no time. It is unbelievable, I spent a lot of money on expensive name brand disc until I found these. I initially bought 50 because I was eating other brand disc like crazy. Got my project done and probably used less than 15 out of fifty. I still bought another 50 because they are so cheap and superior to any other that I have used. This should be a lifetime supply for me.
