Despite several friends saying that hydroponics are messy and a pain to care for, I decided to give this a shot and try to grow an little herb garden. I'm glad I did! I've now had fresh herbs for cooking for the past year, and I ended up buying a second garden. I also used it both this year and last to start tomato plants for my outdoor garden, and have been quite pleased with the results. I do want to warn that if you sleep late and want the light to come on early, you should keep this far from view of the bedroom. I live in a small rental and don't have that option, so I have to shut the bedroom door. This thing shines with the light of a thousand suns. Great for the plants, not so great for sleeping. Algae does also like to grow in the base, but it's water with added nutrients in an enclosed space. That's to be expected. It's still easy to clean between crops, so it'l really not that big of a deal.

Herbs have been growing for a little over a month and have already been pruned once. Super easy with a great price. I couldn't be happier with this garden.

This is the second unit purchased from this brand. The first was a 6-pod unit that worked great, exactly as advertised. The current one is a 12-pod. So buying a second says I still have confidence in the brand. What happened to the first unit, you ask. The timer circuit malfunctioned causing the light to flicker. The rest of the unit was fine and I hated to through it out. These are tabletop compact units. The grow light is bright and will light up a room at night.These are super easy to set up and operate. Everything you need except seeds and water is included. And low and behold it comes assembled. No tools required. Actually made me weak in the knees. These are good for small plants like lettuce, small herbs and MAYBE a miniature cherry tomato if you find the seeds. Ok, have at it!!!

This works very good. My plants are growing just as good as the aerogarden brand and was less expensive!

I just received her (Barbara) & I am all smiles! It is lightweight, comes w/healthy looking cones, pods, food & fertilizer, and super straight forward instructions. I love how easy it is to set and go, but my favorite characteristic is SHE IS QUIET!I am fairly new to hydrophobic growing. I usually propagate in water, but never have I grown food this way. I wanted this item especially bc it doesn't come w/seeds. Therefore be encouraged to buy/collect seeds you prefer. Barbara allows me to have full control over my growing. Some other people mentioned the brightness of the lights. Let me confirm YES it is bright! The lights aren't a problem to me, I love it. She doesn't take up much space in my tiny apartment. She is currently homed atop my microwave.

Followed directions exactly! Worked very well for 4 days. Then 90% of the lights didn’t turn on. Unplugged, plugged in several times. No success. Emailed manufacturer with no response. Contacted Amazon- they’ll send another, I could send this one back. Not an easy thing to do. Totally disappointed with the product and communication

A good deal compared to how much the official brand name pods cost, but I wish they had included directions- I’m not sure where in my planting to use the included pebbles/sponges marked A&B. Since they don’t come with the name brand kit I’m at a loss for how to use them.
