ELEGOO Water Washable 3D Printer Resin, Rapid LCD Resin 405nm UV-Curing Standard Photopolymer Resin for LCD 3D Printing Beige 1000G

This product is obviously for people who have and run an SLA printer, AKA resin printer.My use for it is actually with an FDM printer, the resin is an excellent way of post processing FDM prints to create ultra smooth prints that have then be painted, creating an object that looks like it was injection molded and painted with an ultra smooth paint.I bought this to supplement the bottle of elegoo ABS like resin, which is thicker than this, both have uses where you might need a thicker resin to fill a larger gap (and you can add talc to these resins to make them even thicker) where this more fluid liquid is good for providing a smooth, level, and thin covering of larger surfaces.The resin when using this method is incredibly easy to use, but beware, the fumes from this are not something you want to be inhaling, so if you’re going this route, you need at the very least a good quality respirator, don’t go cheap, your lungs are pretty important and a good quality respirator from a reputable manufacturer with proper certification can be obtained for less than the price of this resin.You’ll also need to wear gloves, this stuff is not something you want on your skin, the resin cures by UV light in a matter of seconds, and as the chemical reaction occurs, heat is produced, get this stuff on your hands and venture outside you’re potentially going to get burns.Finally, you’ll want either an enclosed curing box or a pair of glasses that block the UV light if (like me) you use a UV torch to set the resin, the torch I bought was about 7 pounds and it has worked absolutely brilliantly for me.Those are the main safety points when using the resin.I apply the resin to the 3D part using a brush (that came with the ABS resin), I work on one small section at a time, brushing on the resin and quickly putting it under the light. Working fast between the application of the resin means that the resin does not migrate from where you want it to a pool caused by surface tension, working only in small areas and minimising the time between painting and curing means that you have much more control over getting the resin where you want it.Pay attention to pooling, you don’t want the resin in small hard to reach areas because it can be tricky to remove, use the brush to move resin out from any pooled areas.The resins from the resin painting are brilliant, I took a few pictures through my glasses, and it’s difficult to see in the photos, but when the resin cures you see it visibly darken when looking through the glasses, this is incredibly useful because it allows you to see if you’ve missed any spots, and after sanding the resin down, again, you can see where the resin has filled the surface.After a few rounds of application and sanding, I lm able to go up to 12000 grunt sandpaper and running my fingers over the part feels smooth like an ice cube.I can’t comment on how well it works directly with an SLA wprinter because I don’t have one, but it works fantastic for finishing FDM parts.Highly recomended.

A really good resin although slightly more expensive than standard resin presumably due to the 'water washable' part. Although if i'm totally honest i don't know what makes it water washable and non water washable - it still smells although a little less.What is noticeable is the fact my room doesn't smell of rubbing alcohol as i no longer have to use it for cleaning prints.Keep in mind water washable doesn't quite mean, chuck it down the sink or the toilet, its still best to keep the waste cleaning vat and cure before throwing away the cured resin in the normal bin!Print is a 25mm miniature and to be honest my phone camera doesn't do it justice. The supports are also easy to remove with this resin as i tend to wash in warm soapy water, and after a bit of a soak they just fall off most of the time unless using the 'heavy' setting in Lychee slicer.

Used this alot now. It's far better than the other brands I've used. Not having to use alcohol to wash prints is a god send. Just remeber to dispose of the water properly. Don't chuck it down the sink, it's still toxic.Print quality has been great, even with a 2k printer. I print alot of small warhammer models and the e been great.I do get the occasional failure but no more than any other resin.

I like that it's water washable. I've only used this resin and an new to 3D printing in general but it's ok. It never dries unless hit with UV light, that's good because you always have a chance to clean it, but also annoying because it is messy to clean. It transfers easily from gloves to all other surfaces. Just takes some getting used to. Smell is not too bad, but definitely have ventilation.

Great for the price and works as intended. Well made, as specified and pictured. Would buy again. Very nice print quality with this.

Simple and easy to use for great print results with less faff and mess.

Not having to use IPA to clean prints? Love that- rinse in soapy water, rinse in clear water, let dry and cure. Done.It gives nice, crisp edges on my prints and doesn't smell like death.Downsides? It's over forty quid a bottle, but you don't have to buy IPA and deal with the stinky clean up that entails. And it does print very brittle- I print mostly miniatures, and you don't want to use this stuff if a figure is holding a sword or rifle- anything long and thin will exit stage left sooner or later.Love the stuff- always keep a bottle in the cupboard.

I only bought this as I ran out of my preferred water washable resin. I thought as I have an Elegoo printer and this is an Elegoo resin it would be easy to dial in and perform well. How wrong I was. First off, none of the settings from any official source were close and I was getting prints losing adherence to the build platform half way through printing. It seems that I needed an exposure time a fair bit higher than recommended to keep them sticking. Secondly, and by far the biggest issue, is how brittle this resin is after curing. You just have to look the wrong way at a print and it shatters into a million pieces. Well OK, that's an exaggeration, but I mainly pring minis for wargames and just brushing up against a sword is enough to crack it off. Very annoying. Mainly leaving this review as a note to myself to not be tempted into buying this again!

Aucun soucis avec le bouchon, et n'a pas coulé dans l'emballage, qui était très soigné. Livré en consigne.Le produit fonctionne très bien et j'ai pu réaliser mes impressions avec les 2 bouteilles sans problème. Pas de solidification dans les bouteilles (peut être que la saison s'y prête plus qu'en été (par rapport à ce qu'indiquaient certains commentaires. En tout cas pour ma part, je suis pleinement satisfait, et pas que de la livraison. N'hésitez pas, c'est de la résine de très haute qualité, surtout pour de la résine lavable à l'eau.

Perfecte Resin. Veel prints gemaakt op de Elegoo Saturn 3 Ultra. 0 fouten tegengekomen. Wel eigen fouten met instelling in 't begin. Aanrader.

Use this on my Elegoo Mars 2 mono printer. Haven't had any problems with the resin, except for user errors. Good details and you don't need to use IPA to clean the prints.

Das Grau ist super für alle möglichen Farben, die später drauf kommen, aber auch schön "einfach so".// DRUCK & POST-PROCESS //Das Resin ist recht ergiebig, lässt sich sehr gut waschen (Elegoo Mercury Plus V2.0) und curen. Manche Details (dünne Kabel an der Bloodhound Büste z.B.) sind leider nicht gedruckt worden, aber das liegt definitiv an unseren Einstellungen. Mit etwas Tüfteln dürften auch diese gut werden.Überflüssiges Resin lässt sich super weg waschen und Ecken, Kanten, etc. werden scharf und "sauber".Wenn die Curing-Zeit korrekt eingestellt ist, ist es trocken aber nicht brüchig.Es lässt sich ohne Primer prima anmalen, aber für die gezeigte Büste habe ich 2x mit schwarzem Matt-Spray vorbehandelt. Die Farbe hielt gut und es gingen keine Details verloren, selbst mit 3 Schichten Acrylfarbe und anschließend sicher 4 Schichten Klarlack.Es riecht natürlich nach Resin und man sollte definitv mit Maske und in einem gut belüftetem / ventiliertem Raum arbeiten. Es ist aber bei weitem nicht so unangenehm in der Nase, wie andere Resins.Die Reste an Küchentüchern, etc. lassen sich über ein paar Tage prima in der Sonne curen oder auch nochmal in der Mercury. Die Restbehälter führe ich dem Sondermüll zu.// FAZIT //Ich habe mehrere Minis mit Acryl bemalt und das Ergebnis kann sich definitv sehen lassen. Das Drucken macht Freude und die Qualität ist beeindruckend. Ich kann das Elegoo Water-Washable Resin empfehlen und habe es auch schon nachgekauft.
