I always wanted to try a fountain pen. I wanted to know what the allure, the mystique, the reason why people spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars on a pen!!! After visiting some websites and watching some YouTube videos, this Fountain pen was always in the top 5 recommendations. For less than $30 including the refill ink cartridges. I thought to myself...what's the worst that can happen? I try it once and never use it again. Well, let me tell you...the minute I started writing with this pen...I was sold. I now make it my first choice from my pen collection. Previously Gel pens were my hands down favorites and I have a nice collection of them. But this pen takes it to the next level. You will look for reasons to write stuff down, just to use this pen and then you will think if a pen writes this good for less than $30...I wonder what a $50, $100, $300, $500 and $1000 pen writes like. Well, I may wonder for quite a while as this pen is great!

MOST EXCELLENT writing instrument I have ever used!! Smooth, easy, lite, comfortable writing. I have NEVER OWNED or WRITTEN with any fountain pen before, but I always wanted to know what it's like. I went to YouTube to see how to (set it up) and it's extremely easy. You just (remove cap, unscrew NIB/Barrel) and simply PUSH IN INK CARTRIDGE with (firm push straight down). Never using one in my life, it was extremely easy to set out. Writes smooth and flawlessly with comfort. Unlike a ball point pen, you DO NOT PUSH DOWN OR USE ANY PRESSURE when writing. You write at a comfortable ANGLE, not holding pen straight up and down. It works best when you hold fountain pen (one certain way) with (metal side of nib with hole facing forward in your grip/hand) and (grooved side of nib facing backward toward you). Like I said, (I never owned a fountain pen before), and (I have never used/written with a fountain pen ever), or (set one up). All of this is extremely easy. ``They say" this is the BEST BEGINNER FOUNTAIN PEN. I BELIEVE THAT IT IS!! ENTIRE PEN is BRASS, (not plastic) and it's QUALITY. Personally, I now LOVE IT and it's ALL I EVER WANT TO USE NOW. I've had mine for a MONTH or slighty longer, I can say this pen is COMPLETELY RELIABLE, IT DOES NOT DRY OUT, as I'm still on my FIRST INK CARTRIDGE. I don't write alot, that's why I'm still on my FIRST INK CARTRIDGE. It has layed on my table ready to be used for over a month now. It's NEVER FAILED ME OR DRIED OUT. (I LOVE MY NEW PILOT METROPOLITAN FOUNTAIN PEN)!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PEN. I ALSO RECOMMEND PILOT (G 2 gel pens 1mm BOLD). In case your wondering, MY Pilot Metropolitan fountain pen is a MEDIUM NIB, and I recommend you get that. Don't worry, even though it's MEDIUM NIB it can write FINE ENOUGH if you want it to. Enough for me anyways. You can't go wrong with this pen, GET ONE for yourself, you'll love it!!

Who would think that a fountain pen would change my writing experience. I thought that a pen is a pen right? What difference would a ballpoint or fountain pen make, it's supposed to just write. Similar to getting a nice sports car to enjoy driving, there is a similar feeling. The heft and feel of the fountain pen in my hand gives a nice tactile feedback and makes the writing experience more enjoyable. I used the included cartridge and filled it using a syringe and fountain pen ink in a bottle. Works well instead of using a converter. Plus this model came with a bunch of extra cartridges too, very convenient. If you are curious about entering the world of fountain pens, this Pilot Metropolitan is a perfect "starter pen". It is relatively inexpensive, good quality and fun to use.

Quit looking. This is the fountain pen you want. It is easy to write with, works well even on cheaper paper, (a little feathering but not so much it makes your writing illegible or really ugly. I use Amazonbasics notepads and a day designer planner and it is truly fine with both.) and affordable. I write at least 300 pages of notes a week for grad school and this has pretty much stopped most of the issues I was having with hand cramping and pain. The metal outside feels really nice to hold and if you don't try and put the cap on the back when you write, it isn't top-heavy at all. It comes with a nice little case with a spot for an extra ink refill so you can throw it in your bookbag without worrying about getting ink everywhere. I LOVE this pen.

I just purchased this pen, and have only written a few test sentences and made some scribbles with it, but it is shockingly good. Even before I put ink in it, it had me enamored. This is an elegant pen for the money. It writes wonderfully and the ink-flow is precise, smooth, even. I heard a reviewer describe this pen's traversal across the paper as "buttery," and it certainly is.I thought that this pen no longer came with a converter, but it does, a bladder-type reservoir that works smoothly and precisely. I am delighted that it came with its own reservoir, because I prefer using bottled ink to cartridges. That was a very pleasing surprise. This is my first Pilot pen, and I am a fan now. I will be getting more to give as gifts. I anticipate this becoming one of my primary go-to pens for writing, jotting, and work. I recommend considering this pen, at the least. For myself, I expected it to be good, but not to like it as much as I do.

It has been a long time since I've owned a fountain pen. On a whim, I decided to give this one a try and I couldn't be happier.This fountain pen has a simple 'minimalist' design but it does not look or feel cheap. The cartridges are easy to load. It feels good in the hand. It writes smoothly, and it doesn't leak. The ink flows well but doesn't puddle on the paper It is a little wet when the ink is fresh but that is to be expected. The cap fits securely. With the addition of the extra cartridges, this pen is a no-brainer.For someone who keeps a journal or who writes frequently, this pen is a great inexpensive aid that will enhance your writing experience.I recommend this pen.
