Chagrin Valley Soap & Salve - Organic Natural Dog Shampoo - Cedar Lavender

I used this on my little dog, and it was a heck of a lot easier than liquid soap is.I've purchased Chagrin Valley shampoo bars for humans, and I LOVE them, so I figured their dog shampoo would be nice as well. I was not wrong--this soap smells fabulous! It was very easy to work into her fur, and though it took a little extra work to rinse out, I am overall pleased with the cleaning aspect of the performance.On the bug repellant, though, I do not see that it has any effect: She still scratches and I'm still finding fleas.She is on an oral flea killer, but there are still random fleas that wander through, which is why I went for this particular herbal bar.As a side note--this soap made my hands so soft!I subtracted one star for the non-flea-effect, but otherwise I love it.You should go check out the Chagrin Valley website--their shampoo bars are amazing! A "trial size" purchase lasts forever, so you can try a whole bunch of different ones before you settle on the one you like best. (the Cafe Moreno is my absolute fav, because it cleans my oily hair well, and smells fabulous)

So I bathe 4 large German Shepherd dogs once a month. I buy shampoo by the gallon. I wanted to try a shampoo without a bunch of chemicals in it and I’m trying to get away from plastic containers. This prompted me to try the bar soap. I was quite skeptical as to whether or not this would get down to their skin with their thick double coats where as it’s a major chore to get liquid soap to the skin. Not only was I pleasantly surprised that it did, but it also rinsed very easily. Much better than the liquid. It didn’t leave any residue and the dogs coats are soft and silky. It takes me about 20 oz of liquid soap to do the 4 dogs so I figured maybe I’d get 1.5 washing out of this bar. Not so. I will get at least 3....maybe four baths for each of them, make this shampoo more cost effective also. It’s a win win for me and this dogs. I will be most certainly buying this again!

I tried this on my dog and noticed there is no dog smell. It has been 4 days and he still smells clean, yay!It seems to be deterring the ticks too so far. Had him in his crate over night and the next morning found a ticket crawling in his fur instead of embedded in his skin. It lathers very well and rinses easily too. His coat looks really shiny. I am wondering if I can use it on myself before I go out in the woods.Seller please note: Many times sellers raise prices when there are good reviews. I will not buy anymore if the price goes up.

Was a little nervous when the bar arrived and it was so tiny. I have a long hair, double coated shepherd and a short hair terrier mix. This soap lathers really well and rinses off super easy. Better than the liquid soaps in my opinion. Very happy though I do wish the bar was bigger for the price. But worth it.

This is my first time using a shampoo bar soap of any kind and it has exceeded my expectations. It's much easier to apply than liquid soap, as you don't lose any during application and it goes directly where you rub the bar. It lathers well and gave good coverage as well as rinsing off easily. Although this soap doesn't leave much of a scent, what it does leave is my dog smelling clean with super soft fur. With the previous shampoo we used, it left a great smelling scent but by day three after her bath she would start smelling like a dog wearing perfume. This shampoo just leaves a clean dog smelling "clean"! Love it!!
