Q: For people who live in the northern US, is this jacket better suited for the fall or for winter?

I live in the U.P. of Michigan, and I would say this jacket is suitable for cold fall days and maybe some snowfall, but not for the thick of winter. Also I would recommended getting a size larger than normal so as to be able to fit a sweater underneath. The jacket is very form fitting and doesn't give very much.

Q: Is this bulky/hard to move around in?

Not bulky really but CHEAP. The zipper broke after the 4th wear. Be careful if you have to bend over ever.
