Synchronizing CardScan with Outlook - Not compatible with the 64 bit version of Office 2010 or later
Answer Title: Synchronizing CardScan with OutlookAnswer Link: [...]Secondly, CardScan software currently is not compatible with the 64 bit version of Office 2010 nor the new Microsoft Office 2013. Specific functions may or may not work correctly. Our developers are aware of the issue and are working towards a resolution in a future software release later this spring. The CardScan software will install and operate normally, but you will not have the ability to do a direct synchronization between CardScan and Outlook, nor will the add-ins install. However, you can export your CardScan database in the Vcard format and then import them into Outlook. You will find export information here:[...]

Very accurate scans
Tried cellphone camera biz card scans, but spent more time editing the results that would have taken to just type into computer myself. Then I bought this biz card scanner. Works great. Very accurate, although some unusual business cards will stump it. But for most straightforward biz cards, this will accurately capture the data. Big time saver if you need to process a lot of cards. Use this in conjunction with Scan210, a Canadian software company whose software works with this device and Salesforce.

Old model no longer supported by manufacturer and software is obsolete.
Excited to receive Cardscan62 unit and when I went to plug into laptop it won't work.Reached out to Dymo (manufacturer) they said they no longer have software to support this unit. So Amazon/seller has screwed me over.

DO NOT PURCHASE FOR USE WITH 64 BIT SYSTEMS!!
I've been a fan of Cardscan - figured it was time to upgrade from 6 to 9.Not sure it was the right move - first and foremost IT DOES NOT WORK WITH 64 BIT SYSTEMS - so the primary advantage of being small and portable makes it unusable with my laptop.Using this on my 32 bit desktop, the software as always quickly and accurately scans and translates information from most business cards. But the old feature of one-click sending the data to Outlook seems to be gone and requires a much more cumbersome (and potentially duplicating) process of synchronizing.ah, synchronizing ... seems every program that attempts this gets close, but no cigar.Think twice before purchasing this item - make sure you are not using more current systems ....

Overall... a good purchase for my office
I shopped for a while for a card scanner. Pretty much all of them get mixed reviews. I office at home and had several bundles of cards taking up space and doing nothing else, My work computer runs Windows 7 and Outlook 13. The software installed and worked fine. I scanned in a first run of 250 cards and was immediately disappointed to see they scanned in monochrome. An oversight I had not considered or looked for. I just assumed it would scan color. Otherwise, It did a fine job for the most part and made quick work of my mess as it will scan in batches, one directly after another. It does have trouble with "creative" cards. They require significant editing. Most cards do just fine. Colored cards can be completely lost in in the black and white image. It also allows you to scan the back of cards for the same contact after the fact. As for translating cards from other languages, I have not found such a feature. Most Japanese cards are in English on one side and Japanese on the other so it hasn't been a problem. It is fast and easy to use. Searching contacts can be done by name or by company. Contacts can be sorted in the same ways. Overall I like it and it has solved a problem for me. It interfaces with Outlook and adds each card as a contact. It also interfaces with ACT! but I have not enabled that function or tried it yet. I would buy this again but would might consider the extra cash for the color available on the "Executive" version.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!! DOES NOT WORK WITH MAC even though the Amazon description says it does. Cheap, made in China. Wasted lots of time with this and wish I had read more reviews and believed them.
