EcoBark Step in Dog Harness - Eco-Friendly Small & Medium Breed Dog Harnesses - Reflective and Adjustable Mini Body Halter Vest - Soft Mesh Toy Breed Harness (Aqua Blue, Medium)

I got this harness for my 1 year old Havanese and he and I both love it! It's a pretty blue color, is nice and soft, and fits him securely but not too tight. He's not much of a tugger, but when he does tug the harness doesn't dig into his throat like the one I was replacing (it was built way too firm). The front of this harness ends at the top of his chest like it should, and is very soft, so my dog seems comfortable. I measured him as having an 11.5" neck and 18" belly, and the medium one fits him perfectly (he's maybe 15-18 pounds). The size chart that the harness came with is different from the one currently on Amazon, and seems to be more accurate (I've uploaded a picture of it).

Let me count the ways:The neck: it goes across the chest rather than the neck.Leg holes: not really leg holes. Large openings that you put their legs in. Your Baby's armpits cannot get chafed no matter the activity.'D' ring: you snap the connector on top of their back. The nylon webbing that attaches the connectors on each side has a d ring. When you attach your lead through the d rings, you are guaranteed that connector cannot come apart.Velcro body closure: who doesn't love velcro over closures?Soft mesh & piping: self explanatory.Using recycled plastic bottles, thumbs up!I bought this for Lucy, she came from the humane society. Lucy is a young, approximately 1 year old Chiweenie according to my veterinarian. Because I don't know if Lucy is housebroken, I put this harness on when we get up & take it off at bedtime. I have been extremely pleased with it. As I stated above, no chafing when rolling around on her back and running circles when the mood strikes. And because of where the neck is, Lucy is able to eat, drink and move any way she likes without any pressure on her neck - ever.I have a nine year old terrier mix, and Pearl is definitely getting one of these. Another rescue, Pearl still has a strong reaction if she thinks that you are going to put something around her neck.I have owned, trained, shown & field trialed doggies for over 30 years. I now only have rescues for the enjoyment of having doggies.If you have a dog,This is the #1 item you need! Great quality harness -- I would have given this harness 5*'s if it wasn't for the fact that the sizing is way off. We have a 2-3lb chihuahua, with a 7" neck, 9"chest, so technically he should be an XS. However, after reading other reviews, I purchased the XXS since sizing runs big. Unfortunately the neck opening is still so wide that our pup can pull his front legs out while walking, and it hangs at the ideal height for him to chew the front of the harness when he sits. We can fit it around his chest so long as we fasten the velcro to the mesh on the side, which will likely begin to pull the material over time. No doubt our pup will eventually grow into it, but I'm disappointed that we really can't use it yet!

I bought a size Small harness for my 10 pound miniature dachshund. It's so hard to find harnesses that fit dachshunds well due to their broad chest and short legs, but the EcoBark is a pretty good fit. It gaps a little bit on her neck, but it seems like it fits snugly enough everywhere else to keep her from being able to escape from it. She seems to like it, and the velcro closure around the broadest part of her chest is just the right size. The thing I like the most about this harness is that there are no buckles under the arms like so many other harnesses. My dog would get scratches under her arms from the buckles on a different harness we had, so I was pleased to see that there is only mesh padding behind her arms on this one. I noticed that the sizing chart is different in the package I was sent than the one displayed on the website, like another reviewer mentioned. I also think the D rings are a little too big for the size of the harness. For a small dog, they are pretty clunky, and they barely fit inside the clip on her leash. Other than that the fit, color, material, and overall look of the EcoBark are awesome and will fit otherwise hard to shop for doxies!

UPDATE:I ordered an XS after our Yorkie grew out of her XXS. The attached photos are the comparison of the XXS (red) and XS (Pink). As you can see the XS leg holes are a bit longer and the chest piece is slightly longer as is the Velcro straps.I still absolutely love the harness. I don’t have to struggle with my Yorkie fighting to get it on—just slip the piece over the legs and you’re almost done. The clips and Velcro are extremely secure for my (now) 5 pound Yorkie.ORIGINAL:I was nervous to order this because XXS harnesses haven’t been fitting my 1.5lbs yorkie puppy. This one is the closest I have found after looking at Petsmart, Petco, and Pet Supplies Plus. She can bite the front of the neck if she tries, and we have to tighten the velco to it’s max, but it works. Her front legs don’t come through the neck, and she doesn’t itch at it or try and shake it off. The mesh is not to thin or too thick and seems very soft but durable.

Ordered based on the sizing information in the photos on this listing. It just arrived today much too small so I went to order a size up and was very confused when I consulted the same sizing photo. Comparing it to the insert I received with my harness shows why. (See photo)Very frustrated and now nervous about ordering a second one because what if it’s two sizes up instead of one?

One of the few vest harnesses with fabric rather than just straps. My dog is a 5lb maltipoo and she can wiggle out of straps, so I like this has fabric and is a moderate price. When I ordered the only xsmall option was light blue. It's bright, but I wish it were pink for her. Finally as other reviews mentioned it is a little loose even though it's xsmall. I wish the Velcro area was larger so I could fit it more tightly. Additionally it would be nice if you could shorten the clip strap so it would fit more tightly.

Perfect for my dog. She cannot escape - clip closing and velco - keeps her in without me worrying about her escaping.Just with the rings were a little thinner for attaching her name tag and licence.

I am impressed with this harness! It is sturdy, comfortable, and beautiful! My dog has a "Petite pistache" harness but it is nowhere near as good as this one. The way it's made makes it very comfortable for the dog to wear. I will be buying again!
