Q: What is the method for mounting?

It has to flat pieces of steel that are used to clamp (sandwich) the bottom to the top of a bicycle rack. Just about any rear mount bicycle rack has a flat top for positioning or mounting of luggage or a basket. It includes the two pieces of steel (brackets) and nuts and bolts needed to mount it. Mounts very easily and securely. Very well made basket. You will need allen wrenches for the mounting .. 4 mm maybe? Any more questions, ask away. I could even attach pictures. Cheers.

It's made for the back. I just got a electric scooter and the rack that holds the basket attaches to the bike post and. can hold up to 110 pounds😄 Amazon sells it because I saw it😄
