FANTASTIC! Better than the Fender version that costs 4x the price! (see pic)
I was upgrading my friend's Mexican Squier Series strat (still says Fender Stratocaster on the headstock, not Squier) and wasn't sure which version of the pickguard would fit, so I ordered this one and the official Fender version, which cost like fifty, and didn't even include a back plate. Neither lined up with the screw holes (it's a weird guitar), so I had to drill new ones (filled the old ones with toothpicks and wood glue), but the Fender pickguard looked like crap compared to this one. You can see the Musiclily pickguard on the guitar with the Fender p/g next to it. This one is actual pearloid. the Fender one is not pearloid, it's a PRINT of a PICTURE of pearloid (aka "Moto Black"). Ridiculous! I feel bad for the folks who've never seen a real mother-of-toilet-seat pickguard. They catch the light and show different iridescent patterns when when you tilt it. The Fender is just a flat image printed on the pickguard.Imagine taking a photo of an abalone headstock logo, printing it on your color printer, and making a decal for your headstock with it. It's not gonna look the same, is it?The pickguard feels thick and sturdy, not the slightest bit brittle. I had to remove it from the guitar and put it back on 4 times (wiring issues), and it held up as well as any stock pickguard....feels nice and tough. They really do put 2 layers of protective plastic on there, so make sure you peel them both off. It's true that the holes for the 5 way switch aren't countersunk, but I ended up ordering a new Fender 5 way switch, and they no longer use countersunk screws (it did look a little weird with the old switch and big screws) so if you're replacing the switch as well, then you should be good to go!Perfect pickguard!!!!!

Bought as a gift!
Looks great & is as described. Not sure if itβll fit the Fender Strat it was bought for yet but will update after install. Description states that it should fit but weβve had issues in past from other companies.

Fits US Fender Stratocaster
All the screw holes were dead on. Fully shielded. At first when I ordered it, I wasn't sure if I would use it on my American Stratocaster, but I was impressed π

Perfect Fit for a Squier SE - Almost
Easy way to change the look of a Squier SE Strat. The pickguard is very well made, looks like OEM and fits great after trimming.During to install I replaced the anorexic Squier bridge to a high-mass MiM Tremolo bridge at the same time and discovered the guard would not lay flat. It should have fit but it did not. I'm not sure, and didn't care enough to check, if it was the result of the bridge swap or the guard being out of spec but I had to shave 1-2 MM so it would lie flat. It was very minor and just part of the fun of swapping guitar parts. I still rate it 5 stars because of the quality and overall result.

Pretty Good Fit But Had to Countersink Screw Holes
Bought to put on a cheap Chinese made Squier Strat. Overall pretty good fit but a lot of the screw holes were missing the countersink so the screws didn't fit as they're supposed to. Also was missing the holes that the volume and tone knob pots fit/secure into. It was all a pretty easy fix with a drill and drill bits, but wasn't expecting to have to finish the factory work myself. The second picture shows the holes I had to drill or modify. Overall works well enough - cheap pick guard for a cheap guitar!

Good value, awesome style....some things to note...
Fantastic pick guard for the money. Looks fantastic and fits (hole alignment) great on a made in Japan Fender Stratocaster (MIJ Aerodyne). Note (1) I had to enlarge the pick guard retention screw holes (8 of them) slightly with a drill bit to make the screws sit flush. Only for the pick guard retention holes was this necessary. Other screw holes had already been counter sunk to make screws flush. Why didn't they counter sink all the holes? May be those holes take smaller screws on other Strats (MIM,MIUSA, other than MIJ)? I don't know. Note (2) When I first got it out of the package I noticed that there was a protective film over it. Nothing unusual for a pick guard...so I took off protective film and proceeded to install....then I noticed that there was a SECOND, thinner protective film still on there after the FIRST protective had been removed. So I took off the SECOND layer of protective film...then the pick guard went on great and looks awesome. Nice pick guard, good value.

I was ready to praise this but the I noticed something strange....UPDATED!
At first when I was installing this pickguard I was thinking this is really good for the money and continued. I decided to take the film off before I fitted the knobs etc. It fit really well. I was noticing some marks and a tarnishing on the face. Nothing major again for the money so I continued. Once I was finished I thought I would give it a wipe to polish it up. But it wouldn't polish but kept leaving more tarnishing and generally could not get a clean finish and just got worse the more I polished. (this is the black pickguard) I also notice what looked like some tiny piece of aluminium foil on the surface so tried to pick it off but it wouldn't budge the more I tried to move it the worse it got. It was a scarring on the surface, a little hole. But more puzzling is the black surface is white underneath so now its left a damaged mark that is seen because its white under the black surface but the surface of black is at least 1mm thick! Where I have tried to rub it clean it just gets worse so really disappointed. I might have to put the original back on and throw it in the bin.UPDATE! CHANGED TO 5 STARS. After a day or so I noticed a tiny bit of a fray of plastic at the edge of the pickguard. I started picking it thinking I would get it to come off. As I picked the more it peeled away until I realised it was the actual plastic protection of the pickguard. Once fully peeled it revealed a shiny new pickguard! Problem solved! The problem was I had already peeled of the plastic film when I fitted the pickguard. The finish was so flat and without bubbles or loose edges that I assumed that was the finished surface so it had two layers of film covering for protection. It fit perfectly on my MIM Fender. I highly recommend this product. It now looks great. For the money definitely 5*.

Not great for Stratocasters
Holes in the plates will not line up with holes in body of a Strat, The back plate for the Tremolo cover wasn't even big enough to cover the hole. Also this will not fit Alpha or Micro tone pots due to a little lip they have which sits in the pick cover.Would be a great product if you were building a guitar from scratch but for an upgrade for a Squire or Fender then look for an official product

A nice fit for modifying my old Legend guitar
Nicely presented complete with screws and a couple of branded plectrums which was a nice touch. The plate isn't dark black, more a sort of dark charcoal, but that's pretty much as it appears in the images and actually adds a nice little contrast with the guitar's finish. I had to drill a couple of holes in the guitar and three on the plate itself next to each potentiometer hole as my pots have little bits which need to poke through next to each pot base, not sure how common that is. I ordered dark dials too and I'm very pleased with the result, it looks dark, mysterious and menacing!

Excellent
Fit my Squire ok, with very minor adjustments on 1 screw, All else lined up. Back plate was a bit bigger, but lined up with holes leaving more of a gap on near the tremolo system but enough space to squse the strings through when changing them without taking off/ Didnt want to re drill incase I want to change back over again. best of both worlds so All Hunky Dory.Good quality pickgaurd and backplate-double plastic protector film on mines. Also comes with good Shielding on the back of pickgaurd. Thanks!

Overall great but prepare to re-drill holes on a Squier
Colour: TortoiseshellThis is great quality, the cuts are clean and consistent with a smooth edge. The back has aluminium foil for grounding and the pickups and hardware all fit without issues.I installed it on a Squier which used to have another aftermarket pickguard so I already had a few more holes, than from factory. However, none except one lined up so I had to fill them and drill new ones. I'm not taking a star off for this as it wasn't specifically advertised for Squiers. However something I wish was improved is that while the holes that mount the pickguard to the body are all countersunk, the pickup months are not. Aside from aesthetics, this caused an issue with the volume knob where I couldn't fully turn it as it got stuck on the screw. I uploaded an image of the screw after I countersunk it. Not a huge thing but it really wouldn't take much to do at the factory.Overall really happy as I'm in love with how the guitar looks now.
