So so
Not bad but also not great. Has a mildly weird after taste. Really disappointed these expire in a year and a half. I would buy again if 1) they lasted 30 years like other mountain house products and 2) priced at around $3 instead of $5.

TASTE TEST - They taste really good!
The media could not be loaded. Taste tested these new Mountain House peanut butter bites and I like them a lot, here’s why:1. FLAVOR: certainly a rich mix of flavors that doesn’t have any odd after-tastes. The cinnamon and apple flavor hits your taste buds first, then the peanut butter flavor comes on the back end. Reminds of me of cinnamon and apples oatmeal flavor that has peanut butter come in afterwards. The peanut butter flavor is more akin to a peanut butter cookie. It does taste sweet. All in all, really good flavors!2. SHELF LIFE: I couldn't find the shelf life in the Amazon listing: it’s about 1 1/2 years (see pictures). Bought mine July 10, 2022, exp. on Jan. 2024. Not the 30 yr shelf life like the freeze dried products, but sufficient for my needs3. SIZE & CONSISTENCY: each cube is a little smaller than a bouillon cube (see pictures), but do not crumble when you grab them. They’re slightly crunchy at the onset (in a good way!) and meltdown in your mouth as you chew them. I’m sure my lil’ one will eat these up on road trips, camping, snack at the house, etc.4. BANG FOR THE BUCK: I think it’s quite good. Packs 420 calories — 21 grams of each, protein and fat — in a compact space. I do like they come with an interior ziplock. These are a little more expensive then say the Mountain House granola packs, and fewer calories BUT you don’t need water or a heating source or as much space. The trade off is less shelf life, by a significant margin. All in all, I think this product is a good purchase for my needs.5. COMPARISON to the “Original” version of the peanut butter bites: while both are really good, I honestly enjoyed the cinnamon and apples version slightly more. You get the cinnamon and apples flavor upfront and the peanut butter flavor on the back end (see my full review of the peanut butter bites there). Since I like both a lot, that make the cinnamon and apples version of the bites my favorite. I’d still eat these happily and this flavor difference is going to be dependent on an individual’s taste preferences. Either way, I am happy with both products! Conclusion: I recommend them!
