HydorE-SK 1000 DC Protein Skimmer, White

I am using this skimmer on my 150gal cube reef. It was easy to set up, and works very well. Much better made than most other brands...great quality!! Excellent purchase...don't hesitate.

I looked for a skimmer this size( about 8inX 8inX 22in) for a long time but nothing fit my budget. When I saw this for $123 I had to try it. Rated for 250 gal system.The set-up was quite easy if you just SKIP the steps on "pump installation" because the pump is already installed. They did not, however, tell you how to set up the pump flow rate controller( a great feature) but it's very simple. Other features are air intake adjuster and waste drain. The air intake is controlled by a small lever on the skimmer body. Together with the pump controller it's quite easy to fine tune the unit. The big collection cup has a drain tube with a ball valve to drain the collected waste. So you don't need to remove the cup, until cleaning is really necessary.Ran it for a few days and found the unit perform very well and very quiet. Happy with my purchase.

Good product for a fraction of the cost like others. Would buy again.

Take a Lil longer to stabilize and really start frothing but when it starts doing what it's suppose to a week later, it pulls sludge.

Buy it before they change the price… Awesome build quality…. It’s comparable to skimmers that cost hundreds more..
